At the annual meeting of the Dartmouth Club Officers Association in Hanover last month, Bob Zeiser '49, president of the Alumni Association of Rhode Island, received the award as Club President of the Year. Following is the citation read at the annual dinner:
You are an experienced, leader of alumni organizations, starting as President of your Class inCollege (a job you still hold), District Chairmanof the National Enrollment Committee in yourstate (a job you still hold), and President of theDartmouth Alumni Association of Rhode Island- a job you still hold.
Last year was a good example of how a clubcan fulfill its purpose when the leadership is organized Zeiser style. Though you spent twomonths in a hospital with hack trouble, a fullprogram of alumni activities took place includinga Glee Club Concert and a new Book Award planto seven major high schools. Your presidency wasso successful that you were elected to a secondterm, breaking a club tradition. It was simply acase of wanting a good man, even though he wasdown!
One of the recommendations sent us by ananonymous fan of yours would seem to cinch thismatter. Quote: "Bob's activities as President havebeen truly outstanding." That only leaves us thepleasant duty of officially declaring you Club President of the Year.
