The 1963-64 winter sports season may not produce a championship, but it will nonetheless be a memorable one from the standpoint of scheduling. The new swimming pool will be dedicated on March 14 at which time Dartmouth will be host for the Eastern Intercollegiate Swimming Championships. The three-day meet, which will bring some 300 swimmers from 30 colleges to Hanover, will start Thursday, March 12 and will be concluded on the night of the dedication. Preliminaries will be held each afternoon with finals in the evening.

The new pool seats 900, but special seating can be provided for close to 2,000 spectators for a meet such as the Easterns. The pool, designed by R. Jackson Smith '36, has eight lanes, two of which are 50 yards in length, but can be cut back to 25 for a multi-team meet.

Also it has just been announced that Dartmouth will be host for the NCAA Ski Championships, March 5-7. If snow conditions permit, the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme will be used for the downhill and slalom. Colby Bent of Hanover has been named meet director and details regarding the scheduling of the various events will be announced within another month.

Alumni in the midwest are reminded that the Dartmouth basketball team will be taking part in the Milwaukee Classic, December 27-28. On the same trip the hoopsters will play Purdue at Lafayette, December 30, and University of Pittsburgh on January 2. The New York alumni will also be able to take a look at this year's team on December 21 when it plays Fordham.
