Chicago area alumni added a "touch of green" to the holiday season on Saturday, December 29, with a tea dance at the Saddle and Cycle Club. Particularly gratifying was the large number of undergraduates who turned out to fill the alums in on fast-moving events in Hanover. Among those seen twirling or twisting their belles around the dance floor were Gene Hotchkiss '22, Tom Murdough '26, Nathaniel Leverone '06, Don Williamson '42, Al Louer '26, Henry Parker '26, and Henry Embree '30. So, hats off to Bob Willey '56 and Skip Grinfon '54 for a job well done.
The next big event for the association will be a luncheon at the Chicago Yacht Club on Wednesday, February 13 when Dean Karl Hill of the Tuck School will be present. Herb Ray '50 is handling those arrangements. The annual visit of President Dickey to the Windy City will take place on Wednesday, March 27. Last year's tremendous turn-out bodes well for another night of good fellowship, so we hope many will plan to be on hand for cocktails and dinner.
Under the chairmanship of Al Louer '26 and Shelley Kjellenberg '57 a telephone campaign has been organized to get alumni out for these special occasions. These two stalwarts have set up a system whereby all alumni in the Chicago area will receive a phone call prior to each major association event. Al has all the classes prior to 1940 and Shelley has taken on those of more recent vintage.
The weekly luncheons on Mondays at the Real Estate Club have been very well attended this year, but Frances has pledegd to keep an extra table in reserve in case all 1300 members get the urge to attend the same day.
