It seems hard to believe that another year has passed and this will be the last ALUMNI MAGAZINE until next fall. Once again the majority of us face the two greatest frustrations faced by modern mankind: the lawn and those golf sticks, but don't despair fellows, because soon our sons will take over and we can just sit with our feet up in the sir.

Now to catch up with a few of our classmates: After living in Greenwich Village for several years, Bud and Doris Elliott moved to a spacious apartment on Central Park West right across from the park. Their son Dick is now eight years old. Bud is president or a wholesale jewelry company.

Our traveling classmate from Tennessee, Haynes Miller is now living in Paris, France where he is a practicing sittorney with the hrm of Simonnot, Rinuy & Blundell. Any of you with legal problems in France give Haynes a ring. Incidentally, last I heard he was still a bachelor.

The Merrill Thompson family have recently moved across the river from Windsor Vt„ to Meriden, N. H. Betty keeps busy with Brian, now thirteen and his three younger sisters, Kathy, Debbie, and Emily. Should any of you be driving through Windsor stop at Maple Mountain Farms owned by Merrill to buy your cheeses and maple syrup.

Rod Susen is living out in Missoula, Mont., these days where he moved from Ohio. He and June have five children, Martha, thirteen, Rod Jr. twelve, Dave, ten, Mark, eight, and Mary, five. Living out there I guess they are all pretty good skiers by now. How about letting me know what you are doing these days, Rod.

This has been a busy spring for Steve Morrill. Steve is office manager for the Pennsylvania Tidewater Dock Co. in Philadelphia. He and Barbara live in suburban Berwyn. Their family consists of Mark, fifteen, Bob almost thirteen, and Jill, twelve.

_ After living in Brooklyn for many years, Carl Felsenfeld has taken an apartment on West End Avenue in New York City which should be very convenient for him. Carl is a lawyer working as assistant to the chief counsel of CIT Financial Corp., the largest finance company in the country. I'm sure that with the variety of things his company engages in, Carl's work must be most interesting.

It was very nice to receive an article which was in the "Cleveland Press" reporting the tremendous progress Western' Reserve Life Assurance Co., a five-year-old insurance company in Ohio, has made dur'"B the past year under the direction of its chairman Scane Bowler. Insurance in force is fast approaching the 100 million figure, and there seems to be no slackening in the growth rate of this young company. Certainly we all ought to congratulate Scane as one of our class's outstanding leaders in the business world

Now that the live virus measles vaccine has been finally released by the government and your children will be receiving finite course, our College and Class should be very proud of the co-developer, Dr Sam Katz. Sam worked on developing the vaccine from 1956 to the present time at Harvard Medical School while he at the same time held other positions as a pediatrician on the staffs of several leading Boston hospitals. Measles is one of the most prevalent serious diseases in the world today often proving fatal and many times leaving the patient withjife-long disabilities.

""The Alumni Fund is rapidly drawing to a successful conclusion, but you still have a little more time to send in your contribution in case you haven't already mailed it. Dartmouth needs the money to maintain the pre- sence it has achieved in every sphere over the last few years and all want '48 to do its share.

v"l hope all of you enjoy the summer vacations and I'll be looking forward to seeing '1 of you watching the continuation of Dartmouth's undefeated string of victories.

So long till next fall.
