One of the enjoyable facets of the Alumni Fund drive, other than the joy of contributing either time or money or in some cases both, is the Fund dinner every year. It is always fun to see some of the fellows around the area and have a pleasant evening together. This year John Hatheway, in his position as President of the Dartmouth College Club of New York, was the Master of Ceremonies and, as expected, conducted the proceedings with tact and wit. In addition to John, Jim Schaefer, Charlie Herterich, Dick Dahl, Lou Perry, and MortSmith were present. They will all be working hard to insure our Class obtains 100% participation from their areas.

Dick Dahl reports that his second son, Eric, was born last October. Dick lives in Princeton and has recently opened his own insurance office there known as "Essential Planning Associates" in conjunction with his insurance business conducted in New York with Clancy Curran Associates.

Since Mort Smith's son, David, is now thirteen, Mort says he is kept very busy, particularly during the Little League season.

After thinking about moving to a new house for the last five years, Bobo andBarbara Russell and the four children at last made the big move. I wish the Russells a lot of luck in their new home and perhaps Bobo will now find time to enjoy that den.

Although Paul Richrath now has his own title company in Los Angeles, which he and several others formed during the past year, and is in the midst of completing plans for his new home to replace the one that recently burned down, Paul took the time to drop me a note to inform me of these activities. If anyone is going to visit in Los Angeles Paul would love to entertain you in his new home when it is completed. I'm sure you would not only enjoy Paul's wonderful hospitality, but also seeing his magnificent house with its spectacular view.

During their spring vacation, the Glee Club had a concert in White Plains and Barb, my sons John and Peter, and I found the performance to be very fast-moving and varied. The boys enjoyed every minute of it and particularly since we had one of the boys from1 the Glee Club spend the night with us. Alan and Sally Epstein and their two daughters were there as was Bud Gedney with his son, Chip. The Epsteins said they had seen Al and Carol Becker recently when Al had come to New York on a business trip and Carol came along. Al is secretary-treasurer of a shoe company in San Francisco. The Beckers have three sons.

News is a little scarce this month, so this report is somewhat brief. I do want to urge all of you to do your best for the College and Class in the present Alumni Fund drive. Unfortunately we are approaching that age where the College looks to our vintage as its main support area so do all you can.
