Jim Jacobsen of Swan Valley, Idaho, has been elected captain of the 1964 ski team. During the past winter he won the Eastern Intercollegiate Slalom title at Middlebury and finished tenth in the National Giant Slalom in Alaska. Jacobsen is a biology major and was on the Dean's List during the winter term.

Brooks Dodge '5l had the best time through the 45-gate course as he won the 1963 Harvard-Dartmouth Slalom. Harvard won the annual team competition, which is held each year on Mt. Washington. The results are based on the showing of the twenty top racers from each college.

Other Big Greens who did well were Jake Stewart '55 who was third, Charles McLane '41 and Dean Anderson '66, who were seventh and eighth, and George Lewis '57 who finished tenth.

Tom Laris '62, presently a Second Lieutenant in the Army, has been selected by the Department of the Army as a candidate for the 1964 U. S. Olympic track and field team. Laris in three years of varsity competition established many records and was one of the most respected milers in the Ivy League. He is stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Both the varsity basketball and hockey teams have announced their 1963-64 schedules. The hoopmen will compete in the Milwaukee Classic on December 27-28. On the same road trip they will play Purdue on December 30 and Pittsburgh on January 2. The 25-game schedule will also include a home game January 23 against Boston College, coached by Bob Cousy, the former Holy Cross and Boston Celtics great.

The hockey team will play 23 games including a January 9 date with the U. S. Olympic team coached by Eddie Jeremiah. This game will be played at Davis Rink just a few days before the winter games open in Austria.

Andy Gustafson, former assistant football coach at Dartmouth under Earl Blaik, has been named Director of Athletics at the University of Miami.
