JUNE 1963 JAMES BONNYMAN '38

On Wednesday, April 3, the Dartmouth Club of Sarasota held its annual meeting at Martines Coach House Restaurant. There were 32 people present. After a most enjoyable talk on the history and art of flower arranging, with living and dried arrangements as illustrations, President Bob Hardy *25 called the business meeting to order. Reports were given by the officers of the club and then President Hardy called on the nominating committee to present its slate of candidates.

Dean Askew '27, chairman of the committee, presented the committee's slate of candidates: Sumner B. Emerson '17 for President, George Collins '35 for Vice-President and James Bonnyman '38 for Secretary Treasurer. President Hardy then called for nominations from the floor, but there were none forthcoming. Gil Swett '17 moved that the above candidates be elected unanimously and Clark Collins '19 seconded the motion. It was entered in the records that the new officers were elected unanimously. After an informal discussion of the affairs of the club with everyone taking post, the meeting was adjourned.

This was one of the most pleasant annual business meetings the Dartmouth Club of Sarasota has ever had due in no small part to the charm and vivacity of Mrs. Matthews and also to the full and active participation of the members in the open discussion. We are all looking forward to the resumption of the formal evening meetings in the fall, but in the meanwhile we will continue open "round-table" meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Plaza Restaurant at twelve noon.
