Tuesday, March 9, saw the second largest meeting ever held by the Sarasota group. Over ninety alumni, wives, and friends of Dartmouth gathered at the Sarasota Motor Hotel to hear Bob Blackman speak on the 1964 football season, the prospects for 1965, and the College in general. The only meeting that surpassed this one in the number in attendance was the luncheon meeting held for President Dickey two years ago.

This was really a "bang-up" affair with many out-of-town alumni and their wives and, as special guests, this area's high school football coaches and their wives. The meeting was ably chaired by Sumner Emerson 17, president, and the invocation was given by the Rev. Arthur Wheelock '14. "Dink" Wiener '40 and Dave Rice '40 and their charming wives were much in evidence as were such old stand-bys as Gil Swett '17, Roger and Mrs. Brown '05, Clark and Madeline Collins '19, Allen Brown '07, Art and Mrs. Allyn '35.

Bob Blackman gave a most interesting talk. The writer, having lived in the South the greater portion of his years, found it most refreshing to hear a football coach speak of the scholastic achievements of his players as well as their athletic prowess.

The next meeting of the Sarasota Club will be held April 8 at the same location. This will be the annual business meeting and all members are urged to attend. And, of course, wives and guests are always welcome.
