You will be saddened to learn that DonHarries passed away, October 15. Don had been confined to the V.A. Hospital in Hines, Ill., for many years. His premature passing is attributed to a severe spinal injury he suffered 7 or 8 years ago. While in the hospital, Don decided to study law and pursued it energetically. In September, just a few weeks before his death, he achieved his goal by passing the examinations for admission to the bar of Illinois.
John Berry and Hose Craig were on a quick jaunt to L.A. recently. During one of the few meals they had there, they ran into their favorite financier, "Needle" Allen, who had just blown in from New Jersey to help poor little Los Angeles unload some bond issues. Apparently, the Rock's $5.5 million super apartment venture actually exceeds the voluble promoter's claims.
