The spring season has also been a heartbreaker for the Dartmouth track team. Far from strong to begin with, injuries have weakened the team even more. As a result three straight opponents have registered over 100 points. After an opening triangular meet victory (Dartmouth 83, B.C. 63, B.U. 37), the Green fortunes have taken a nose dive. Holy Cross trimmed the Green 107-42, Harvard ran away 126-23, and Brown was on top 105-44.

And finally we must report that Dartmouth was tenth in the Heptagonals with only three points. As expected, Green runner Jim Season (hurdles) and field eventmen Lynn Bates (pole vault), Bob Cahners and Don Switzer (hammer), Jim Markworth (high jump), Rick Worland and Tom Noyes (javelin), and Bill Hayden (broad jump) have been the main bright spots.

Rather than end on a completely dismal note, we should add that the freshman track team is now 3-3 on the season, and may give some strength to next year's varsity.
