October sends Jim Swanson '59 into a frenzy. He is the chairman of the enrollment committee for the second year running and currently is being very ably assisted by TomFead '56, head of the interviewing subcommittee, and Tom Seawell '59, head of the school visitation subcommittee. This latter committee is charged with sending alums out to visit each high school in the metropolitan area in order to speak to the college counselors and get ideas for potential hot prospects for admittance. The idea is that there are lots of prospects around who don't know anything about Dartmouth, and by seeking them out and planting a few well placed seeds, we end up each year by having a tremendously good response to our efforts.

Jay Evans '49 from the Admissions Office in Hanover was in Denver October 15 for a meeting with the club officers and those in charge of the enrollment work. Cal Fisher '32 played host to this crew, and a few important insights were gained.

The Dartmouth alums are to play the Princeton alums in touch football just before the Dartmouth-Princeton game. After this match (which is heavily weighted in our favor), the combatants will adjourn for fun and games to enjoy the direct radio broadcast of the actual Dartmouth-Princeton game.

Another note for the athletically inclined is that the Denver Lacrosse Club has reached fame but very little fortune, largely through the efforts of Dartmouth men BobWoodberry '54, Tom Fead '56. Other players include Harry Shaw '59, Jim Swanson'59, George Shaw '54, Monte Pascoe '57, and Al Krutsch '59. This club is getting so good that they now play the Air Force Academy, Colorado College, Colorado University, Colorado State University, and Denver University. Last year they won six and lost two, and this year, since Al Krutsch has put on some more weight, they expect to do much better. Coincidentally, their uniforms are green and white.

Seymour Wheelock '40, ubiquitous devil that he is, continues to snap pictures at a rapid rate. We are glad to have him back in town.
