Our Sports Editor Moves to Boston Globe

Ernest A. (Ernie) Roberts, Dartmouth's sports information director who has served as sports editor of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE for the past two years, has been named sports editor of the BostonEvening Globe. He takes over his new position on April 11.

Ernie came to Dartmouth in 1960, after being college sports editor of the Globe for ten years. A graduate of Northeastern University ('44), he served as an Army Air Force lieutenant in the Pacific and then did graduate work at Boston University before beginning his newspaper career in 1947. At Dartmouth he has handled public relations for the 17-sport intercollegiate program and has earned a reputation as one of the best in the sports publicity profession. He is co-author of the chapter on Dartmouth athletics in the book The College on the Hill.
