Carving senior canes. Cramming for finals. Strolling the campus in the soothing splendor of the June twilight. Marching happily (and proudly) into the golden glory of the Bema for the last academic hurrah - Graduation. Then, taking that last, longing look at the Baker Library spire as you disappeared down the hill into West Leb and far beyond, into the big, unknown world. Memories of 32 years ago. In the intervening years, many classmates have brought honor to Dartmouth's name by their achievements in that forbidding world of 1934.

This month, the following names are added to this column's Roll of Honors: - Bob Allabough, named a director of the New Jersey Bank and Trust Co. and chosen as "Outstanding Dartmouth Alumnus" of Bergen County, N.J., in recognition of his notable contributions to his community, his outstanding business leadership, and his loyalty to Dartmouth College. Bob's accomplishments are too numerous to compress into this space. In law, in service to his country (World War II and Korea), in social and educational work for his community, and in his devotion to the Dartmouth cause, Bob epitomizes the very best of 1934. - Class Treasurer Ed Brown, elected a Hanover selectman. - George Engel, holder of a Career Research Award of the U.S. Public Health Service. George, teaching at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, also has been engaged in research on the psychological determinants of organic illness. Recently he was honored at a testimonial by those fortunate men of medicine who have trained under him over the past 20 years. - His twin, Frank Engel, honored posthumously by the Chilean Endocrine Society which has established the "Frank L. Engel Award" to be granted yearly for "outstanding national contributions in clinical or basic research in endocrinology"; and by Duke University which has established a "Frank L. Engel Award in Endocrinology."

So proudly we hail them and Frank's memory.
