At the annual luncheon meeting in June, a new slate of officers was unanimously elected, consisting of Bob Woodruff '37, president; Frank Curtis '36, vice president; Ed Daumit '60, secretary; and Paul Stein'59, treasurer. We are fortunate to have the services of these excellent people.

We gathered at the annual picnic on September 8 at the home of Tom Curtis '32. There was a large attendance of alumni, wives, children, and undergraduates. JoeLogan '42 was in charge of the arrangements, and he provided perfect weather. Among the principal activities was a hardfought softball game between the levelheaded alumni and the up-start undergraduates, which the latter accidentally won by a scant margin. Also there was a spectacular swimming meet for the children, in which all of them managed to win a ribbon. Probably the most exciting event was a fierce swimming race between two groups of alumni, those of the 1930s against the 1940s and 50s. They tell me the race ended in a tie. Anyway, this was more exercise than these gentlemen have had in years! Altogether it was a very fine occasion, and we are all much indebted to the Curtises for their hospitality.

On September 18, Eddie Chamberlain'36, Director of Admissions at the College, visited St. Louis on official business. In the company of Doug LeResche '43, Mr. Chamberlain called on the headmasters and guidance counsellors at John Burroughs School, Country Day School, and Priory School. In the evening, he was the guest of honor at a dinner at the Bath and Tennis Club with the enrollment committee, consisting of a group of twenty alumni. This was followed by an informal conference with a number of prospective candidates for admission to the College, together with their fathers. It was a very enjoyable and worthwhile occasion for everyone.

With the. end of summer, our monthly luncheons have resumed at the Cheshire Inn, on the first Tuesday of each month. We are always happy to have a large turn-out.
