In the two' and a half years that I've been writing this column, its format has not changed drastically. In addition there are numerous classmates about whom I've had no news to report. Therefore, with the start of the new year, I thought it appropriate to add a dash of spice herein. Without further ado, may I present "New Faces of 1967" featuring the talents of classmates heretofore unheralded in this column.

ACT 1: THE TRAVELING SALESMAN.

Tom Osborn has been promoted from manager of European consumer sales to manager of international consumer sales by Economics Laboratory Inc., a manufacturer of detergents for home and industry. This promotion meant a transfer for Tom and family from Frankfort, Germany to the head office in New York City. The Osborns reside in Darien, Conn. After acquiring a BP.A. degree at The Art Center School in Los Angeles, Al Pitzner has moved to Wichita, Kan., where he joined Cessna Aircraft as a specialist in photography dealing with advertising and sales promotion. Al's official title is creative director of photography and special projects in the marketing division.

Our nominee for the most traveling of salesmen would have to be Ted Weldon, national retail sales manager of customer service for Sears Roebuck & Co. When not on the road, Ted may be found resting his weary feet at home in Evanston, Ill., with wife Barbara Ann and Lisa, 7, and Teddy, 4.

Don Austermann was recently promoted to sales promotion manager of "Business Week." He makes New York City his home base. Meanwhile back at the ranch Stan Klippi, operating out of Dallas, Texas, is the western representative of U.S.I. Film Products. Midway between Don and Stan is Irv Sherwood who has moved from New Jersey to Cedar Rapids, lowa, where he is a sales engineer for Collins Radio.

ACT 2: FROM PAKISTAN WITH LOVE.

John Scoville recently celebrated his ninth anniversary of employment with Havca Engineering Co., an English firm. For the last seven of these years, John has been working in the Middle East, Pakistan and Iran in particular, designing earth- and rock-fill dams. The Scoville family consisting of wife, Liz, John III, 9, Susan, 6, and twins, James and William, 4, are getting quite a lesson in geography. Halfway round the globe from John is Joe Picarelli who is assistant to the business manager of Andes Exploration Co. of Maine and is working in Arequipa, Peru. A long hop, skip and jump over the Andes from Joe is Luke Case who lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil where he is V.P. of Industria de Parafusos Mapri, S. A. Luke and Ann are the proud parents of Murray, 10, Amey, 8, George 6, and Genet, 3.

From England comes word that IrwinHerrman has been appointed a research secretary by the Ditchley Foundation in Oxford. Also from the English-speaking world, or is it French-speaking, we hear that Bob and Fay Berry and children Pat, 6, and Mike, 5, are becoming very proficient skiers. From Christmas time on, weekends find the Berry Quebec home deserted with the entire family out on the nearby slopes. Included in the Berry family is Bob Boyd, who is now Bob's brother-in-law.

ACT 3: MEDICARE BLUES.

Dr. Jerry Pearlman was married to the former Margaret Karen Barto of Riverside, Calif., on July 3, 1966. She is a graduate of lowa, has an M.A. from Wisconsin and shortly will receive a Ph.D. in slavic linguistics from Wisconsin. Jerry is a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow at UCLA working in the field of visual physiology and electro-physiology. He is associated with the Department of Ophthalmology at UCLA and hopes to remain there full time when his fellowship ends. Teaching at a rival medical school is Bob Spears, assistant professor of pediatrics at U.S.C. Bob, wife Ann, and children Robert, 6, and Betsy, 3, recently moved into a new home on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

After completing his tour of duty with the Air Force Medical Dept. as a specialist in internal medicine, Ross Tucker has been appointed a member of the consulting staff at the Mayo Clinic. Residing in Rochester, Minn., with Ross are wife Judy and Willie, 6, Cathy, 5, and Gordon, 3. Ted Gasteyer has terminated his practice of general medicine in Oak Lawn, Ill., in-order to become a resident in internal medicine. Residency happily is a thing of the past for Dave Levine, an orthopedic surgeon in New York City. In addition to a busy private practice, Dave also' finds time for research at the Hospital for Special Surgery and is a clinical instructor of orthopedic surgery at Cornell Medical College.

ACT 4: CAMPUS CAPERS.

Jim Doig, an assistant professor of politics at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School, is the author of a recently published book entitled "Metropolitan Transportation Politics in the New York Region." Jim and wife Joan reside in Tigertown with Rachel. 8, and Stephen, 6. Teaching nearby in New Jersey is Dave Briggs, an assistant professor in mechanical engineering at Rutgers. Dave was appointed to this post after he received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1965. At Wayne State University in Detroit, Bob Sleigh has been named an associate professor of philosophy.

Norm Shaw has graduated from the classroom. Previously a teacher at Plainview L. I., N. Y., Norm has picked up book's and baggage and moved to West Hartford, Conn., where he is vice principal at the Alfred Plant Jr. High School. Though not affiliated with any school, Jake Towle is nevertheless vitally concerned with the academic world. He is a research and education specialist for the Colorado Labor Council and lives in Longmont, Colo.

ACT 5. WHAT'S MY LINE?

It's a cinch that Walt Leffler's occupation would stump any panel. Walt designs and builds breweries! This intriguing chore keeps him busy on a world-wide scale, although recently he has been concentrating in Central and South America. Most of us would incorrectly guess that Skip Cary was a petroleum geologist, which he was until recently. But now Skip has gone into accounting. He reports that the start up costs of switching to CPA work are not nearly as bad as those involved with the start up costs of raising three children, Heide, 3, Scott, 1½, and Kirsten, 1½.

Although John Parker has a title that doesn't sound too complex, his duties certainly seem complicated. John is an assistant supervisor of the production planning department at Bath Iron Works Corporation in Maine. His primary concern is with the implementation and admininstration of PERT, a new management technique for scheduling and cost control at Bath Iron, a shipbuilding and engineering concern. While on the subject of nautical occupations, Jack Eelter, a Lcdr. in the U.S.N., reports that after leaving Argentia, Newfoundland, his next post is to be with the headquarters of the Atlantic Oceanographic System in Norfolk, Va.

And so the curtain comes down on this production of "New Faces of 1967." If you'd like to be a member of this all star cast in the future, no auditions are necessary, just drop me a line as to your latest activities.

Socializing in Brunswick before the Dartmouth-Bowdoin hockey game are PeteSpalding '53, Andy Drury '51, and DickPew '58. All are residents of Maine.
