The second meeting of the Dartmouth Club of the Merrimack Valley was held at the Sheraton Rolling Green Motor Inn in Andover on December 8 with an attendance of 118.
President Ralph Morrison Jr. '42 presided and Treasurer John Reilly '54 reported that the Club was "solvent."
The following officers were elected after their names were presented by the Rev. Clinton W. Carvell '18, chairman of the nominating committee: President, Daniel B. Goggin '57 of Lowell; vice president, Benjamin C. Bixby Jr. '57, Haverhill; secretary, John S. Sullivan '36, Andover; and treasurer, John Reilly '54, Lowell. The executive committee consists of these four officers along with Rev. Carvell, chairman, and Joseph R. Donahue Jr. '57, John E. Leggat 45, John C. Reardon '36, William H. Keller '30, and Dr. Calvin G. Perry '57.
Fred F. Stockwell '43, president of the Boston Club, extended an invitation to become affiliated with the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston along with seven other Dartmouth clubs in Eastern Massachusetts.
Interesting talks were given by Coach Robert Blackman and Scott Palmer '59, assistant dean of freshmen. Mrs. George Goodman delivered some interesting remarks concerning the sale of the Dartmouth cookbook. Richard J. Collins '53 was recognized for his fine performance as coach of the Merrimack Valley Conference Championship football team.
