At times good news travels slowly. Only today I received a bit from the Spokane Daily Chronicle, dated September 15, 1966! Well we '13ers belatedly want to congratulate Ray Schulte, too. There's a good picture of the Schultes cutting a congratulatory cake during a reception at Deaconess Hospital honoring his half century of medical practice and. an outstanding general practitioner, too.

Dorothy Rice writes that she is in Ocala this winter, visiting her sister and cousin and plans to be home early in April.

A long letter from Line Wilson. He and Lucy are having fun. Lucy has decided to be a painter (not house painting etc.) but Line is surprised how much she likes it. As for Line it's the same thing (and has a pleasant ring to me): eating, sleeping, much golf, and fooling around with their three grandsons. They are going to Palm Springs the end of March and then back to Pasadena. In July Lucy, Line, their daughter, son-inlaw, and three grandsons are off to Wanona outside the Yosemite Valley near the big trees. A holiday the whole family enjoys.

A short time ago I learned the sad news that Lena Fairbanks had died. All '13ers have happy memories of Clayt and Lena at our reunions. A devoted couple who had such a flair for giving everyone a good time.

On March 7 I received a letter from Jessie Scott telling me that Scotty had died after a long illness. Our sympathy goes out to her. her daughter, and grandchildren.

Carl Shumway and I managed to join the luncheon group at Purcells recently and re- port ourselves as "well as can be expected."
