With the thrilling strains of "The Halle- lujah Chorus" sung by the combined Dartmouth Glee Club and St. Joseph's College Club still ringing in my ears I must heartily congratulate its chairman, Pete Schwartz '60 , and his work-horse committee of Pete Palin '61, Herb Isaacson '58, and Moe Basks '61, for an excellent affair. The Sunday afternoon was a typical New England chiller reminding us of Hanover itself as the singing ambassadors swung into what was to be a most memorable and varied program. The extra length occasioned by the St- Joseph girls seemed but a few moments, and only added to the variety and enjoyment. Some six hundred attended.

Just prior to the Zeller Zingers at our February Luncheon, a repeat visit by the charming and well travelled Dan Dimancescu '64 had a well attended audience on the edge of their seats as they viewed an amazing kayak trip of Dan's party along the coast of Japan. We expect this young adventurer back in about two years with slides of his Piper Cub flight around the moon. This man is on his way to the top of whatever he wishes ... keep your eyes on him!

The March luncheon group thoroughly enjoyed Coach Whitey Burnham's after-din-ner wit and tales of the Big Green Soccer squads. A surprise for Whitey was the appearance of his former high school coach from Wethersfield High who was able to remember when the good Mr. Burnham needed a few pointers. It was Tricky Dick Page '54 who set that one up. April 12 will bring us the new Director of Sports Information, Dick Baldwin, as guest of the day.

The annual Dartmouth-Yale Rugby tilt over the coveted Hartford Cup will follow on April 30 at the Polo Grounds in Farmington. This year we understand Channel 24 (ETV) and its affiliated stations are going to honor us with coverage of the game as the Sport of the Week, and it will be presented throughout the U.S. at various times thereafter. Some bananas!

And finally, day of days (and reserve this one for sure now), President Dickey is to be in Hartford on May 25 for a statewide event which we can already assure you will be the grandest affair this city has seen since the coronation of Governor Dempsey . . . and I'm told it may well be even more grand! We will naturally keep you posted of further developments.

And one more item of interest: our club, under the chairmanship of President Rice, has been asked to investigate and recommend to the Bicentenary Committee in Hanover, possibilities for a state function centered around Columbia's Moor's Charity School. As you know, this was the original of what's now known as Dartmouth, and is where Eleazar Wheelock held his first classes for Indian youth. After 200 years, perhaps we can help the College duly honor our humble beginnings in its original one-room building.

The Kansas City Club entertained Coach Bob Blackman at a dinner. (Left to right)are Willard Small '54, Secretary; Paul Uhlmann Jr. '42, President; Creighton HartJr. '56, Vice President; Coach Blackman; and Pete Barnes '57, club Treasurer.
