After five years of faithfully and ably chronicling the many doings of the Class (and without a single libel suit), Dave Florence has passed his quill, inkpot and a ream of blank foolscap to me, together with lots of sage counsel and a spelling primer. All that will be needed and more, if the Class is to be served as well as it has been by Flo, to whom warm thanks and a hearty "well done" are extended on behalf of us all.
If Nixon makes it, give lots ot credit to John Corcoran; the mighty "Owl" has been involved for several months in GOP strategy planning and speech writing. So don't be surprised if Nixon pledges to build that boardwalk from Hanover to Montreal.
Jim Decker, after several years in Columbia (So. Carolina, not So. America), is alive and well in Los Angeles, running the regional office of Wilbur Smith Associates, internationally famous traffic consultants. Jim claims to be stemming the mass exodus to San Jose by planning bigger and better 46 lane freeways for Mayor Yorty. This should be good news for Los Angeles commuters Herb Solow, who recently has assumed overall responsibility for MGM-TV in Hollywood, and Tony Frank, president of the Titan Group, a real estate development and management company, with headquarters in New York.
Tom Bradley has been appointed director of sales training for Johnston, Lemon & Co., a Washington, D. C., brokerage firm. The Class again enhanced its strong leadership position in this year's Alumni Fund campaign. We won the Green Derby (for the eighth time in the past nine years), established a new high in total gifts (over $38,000), and led all classes in number of contributors (558). More than half of '53 contributions represented increases over last year, with 235 classmates giving $50 or more. The consistent record of loyal support to the College is uniquely ours, a hallmark of our fifteen years of alumni life. JackNewton and his hard-working team of 102 class agents deserve special plaudits for again leading us to this high achievement.

Prospectus reading as an indoor sport normally ranks right up there with TViewing Laurel Hardy re-runs. But of special interest to '53s is a red herring" prospectus circulating around Wall Street these days describing an upcoming stock offering by Computer Property Corporation. Among the management are Bob Callender, president, Fred Carleton, executive vice president and Byron Menides, director. George Davies is identified as a founder." The managing underwriters are referred to as LVP Inc which translates to the NYSE firm of DickLombard, Bill Vitalis, and Paul Paganucci, Bill and Pag serving also as director and board chairman respectively of Computer Property.
