If you could compute statistically a point in the U.S. that would represent the geographically central residence of the Class of 1953, I think it would be about 3.6 miles southeast of Chillicothe, Ohio, and judging by the change-of-address cards, gradually moving west. A trend-bucker is ChuckLuker who, after nine years on the Coast (Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles) has come back East to roost (and right now, freeze). Chuck was recently named marketing manager for Haskon, Inc., a subsidiary of Hercules Incorporated, headquartered in Wilmington. Haskon specializes in plastic packaging, mainly covers. He and Elsa, together with Jennifer (13), Jeffrey (11), and Jamie (8), live in the college town of Swarthmore, near Philadelphia.

Fred Dorkin, who at last report was living practically within the shadow of the Washington Monument in Alexandria, apparently tired of assorted demonstrators and their cohorts. He and Harriette just moved to Parsippany, N.J., a cool 100 minutes from Manhattan, where Fred is corporate secretary and house counsel for Microdot Inc., a diversified manufacturer for the aerospace, automotive and electronic industries. On weekends Rosalyn (8), David (6), and Debbie (almost 2) help Pop forget briefs, torts, and suits (and presumably his arduous commute). Fred reports having seen Dr. Bruce Gilmore, who is an internist in private practice in Alexandria. Should be a fairly good ulcer trade there.

Fred Wolf joined the Dreyfus Sales Corp. last May and has just been elected vice president in charge of group sales. This will probably mean that the famous Dreyfus Mutual Fund lion which stalks out of the Wall Street subway will be replaced by a smiling lupine casually reading the ticker. Fred and Jean live in Montclair, N.J., right across the river from Lindsay's Fun City, with their five children, Christina (2), Jennifer (4), Charles (7), Fred Jr. (11), and Georgina (13). Though a recent arrival in the area, Fred is already active in the Essex County Dartmouth Club.

Norm de La Chapelle is another classmate who recently warmed the heart (and lined the pockets) of Allied Van Lines when he moved his family (wife Ginny, sons Charles and Andrew and daughters Anne and Julie) from the Bay State to the Prairie State - Lake Forest, to be exact. Norm is vice president in charge of long-range system planning for the Blue Cross Association and the National Association of Blue Shield Plans. With at least two-thirds of the Class and their families covered by Blue Cross (and most of the rest doctors), Norm's work will probably have greater financial impact on more '53s since the multi-faceted entrepreneurial activities of Paul Paganucci flourished in the early fifties.

If the ALUMNI MAGAZINE proofreader went to Skidmore, we're going to have trouble on this one, because Bob and Martha Poor have moved from Thompson, Conn., to Saratogo (sic!), Calif., near San Jose. Bob is territorial sales engineer for Rogers Corp., and wears three stripes on his Navy reserve dress blues. Cynthia (16), Steven (14), and Lisa (7) have probably figured out how to keep the old salt from becoming too dictatorial around home port.

Counselor Dick Calkins has become a founding partner in the Windy City law firm of Messrs. Burditt, Calkins & Wiley, with offices on West Monroe Street. After Dartmouth, Dick obtained his law degree at Northwestern, clerked for a year and has been practicing in Chicago ever since. Dick and Anita live in nearby Wilmette with their five-year-old daughter, Christine Anna (Chrissy) and three-year-old son, Frederick Theodore II (Tad).

Tony Frank, president of Titan Group, Inc., a real estate development company headquartered in Los Angeles, has been named chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco which supplies loans to S & Ls for use in mortgage lending in the states of California, Arizona, and Nevada. Tony has wide experience in the S & L field having held operating posts at Glendale Federal, First Charter Financial, and State Mutual, where he was president until joining Titan in 1968. Tony and Gay reside in La Canada with their daughter, Tracy, and son, Randy.

New York doctor Dick Kochman, an ophthalmologist (referred to in the trade as a "peeper peeper," says Dick), and his wife, Carol, are proudly and fondly expecting a brother or sister to daughter Jennifer (2½) in the spring. Dick reports that Stu Fordyce is running Union Carbide's Cleveland research effort. Stu and Beverly have two children and live in Fairview Park.
