Don Bigham shrewdly seized the afternoon of the Harvard game when his Bostonarea classmates might be otherwise engaged, and thus avoided a large unruly mob when he chose that time to marry the former Nancy Bird of Needham, Mass. A couple of class operatives made the ceremony and ensuing festivities, however, and we are indebted to them for this report. Biggy pushes watered stocks and defaulted bonds with Bache & Co., NYSE brokerage house. He and Nancy are now at home at 45 Brook St., Wellesley, Mass.

Bob Henderson has been elected vicepresident of Honeywell, Inc. and is now general manager of that company's entire EDP operation, which involves over 12,000 employees and should amply qualify our man for Excedrin Headache of the Year. Hendy had previously been in charge of Honeywell's EDP marketing and sales. Bob, Carole, and "the boys" reside in Wellesley Hills, which means a tough 734 minute commute.

Some of the survivors of the Bob Calender's August wedding have recovered sufficiently to attempt communication, apparently through a Red Cross Grey Lady. The "Philadelphia Phantom" (otherwise unidentified) says that Dave Picker's movies of the nuptial bash are 100% out of focus. If that is so, many classmates are undoubtedly disappointed, but probably none more than Jim West, whose supporting role might otherwise have entitled him to an Academy Award nomination. Dave's camera work might have been faulty on that occasion but has picked up favorable notices elsewhere. Here's a recent verbatim quote from the Wall Street Journal explaining why United Artists sells flicks for a profit and others don't: "You've got to have your finger on the pulse," says an executive of one studio. He points to David Picker, the 38-year-old head of United Artists and producer of the year's most successful film, Midnight Cowboy. Mr. Picker, says the envious executive, "is a hip guy. He's in New York where the action is. Our top guy, on the other hand, is living in a vacuum in Hollywood, surrounded by old guys." This calumny will undoubtedly provoke renowned '53 Hollywood operatives Herb Solow and Jim Goldstone to respond in kind about Fun City.

The Yale game, the outcome of which was a welcome change, was again made more easily accessible through the enterprise of Tom Bloomer and Fred Carlton, who arranged for a diesel-powered, monarch of the Connecticut Turnpike, 297 h.p. omnibus, complete with Dartmouth 1953 banner, to transport 45 classmates, wives, and children plus assorted liquids and solids from Greenwich to the Bowl and return, losing only Howie Clery to the natives, and he only temporarily. Others aboard and in good spirits were Bill and Jean Vitalis, John and Elena Kingland, Dave and Michelle Florence, Byron and Laura Menides, Burt Dorsett, John and Sue Corcoran, Bob and Cathy Callender, Ted Spiegel, Jack and Rachel Senne, and Dave and Jean Replogle. Motor City's bachelor Butch Edgar was a last minute drop-out, mainly because he couldn't remember at which of his three Grosse Pointe houses he'd left his clean shirts.

What could be more absorbing than a stroke-by-stroke replay by the club's duffer as he tediously recounts breaking 100? Is there anything more fascinating than mogul-by-mogul account of the last schuss of the day by the group's champion bunny? Yes, Virginia, listen to Sherm Horton's incisive (ho-ho) analysis of surgeon Jack Crisp's knifing in (get it?) to find out why Turns weren't doing the job anymore. Seems Sherm was eating the wrapper and throwing the tablet away, but let him tell it. Brother-in-law and Hanover resident Bill Johnson was appointed to the Superior Court bench last summer, where justice is now meted out in the 1953 manner. It doesn't help on Route 5 speeding tickets, however, since the Superior Court deals only with more heinous offenses.

Jack Patten, who together with ABC's Bill Beutel, comprises the 1953 contingent to the Dartmouth Club of London, has recently assumed responsibility for all of McGraw-Hill's European operations. He and Caroline have two sons, who in turn have a nanny with fairly impressive credentials. Among her past charges was Anthony Arm-strong-Jones, who is noted for his photography and marrying well.

Father Ed Boyle, S.I., is now teaching at Xavier High School in Concord, Mass. We assume that he and Coach Bob Blackman will quickly get an educated beef pipeline in operation.

Dick Greene has recently joined IBM to work in the area of computer applications to education. Dick was previously at Strategic Systems Institute as director of educational services.

One of the diverting aspects of this particular class communication is that considerable time elapses between (a) writing and (b) reading. Although the frost has just recently lit upon the pumpkin, may we wish you and yours a most Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
