The summer has gone, the leaves are falling off the trees, and class notes are back. Members of the Class of '64 seem to be flocking back to Hanover in droves. BobMcArthur and his wife moved into the area, and Bob is a minister at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hanover. They are living in the apartment above the Episcopal student center. Sandy McGinnes has accepted a post with Dartmouth College as Assistant Dean. Sandy was with Young and Rubicam Advertising in New York City. He became engaged in July to Miss Louise Hartman and they plan a September 28 wedding. Ed Brazil is still in town and spends all of his time water skiing on the placid waters of the Connecticut River. Ed made a long oar-like jump the other day of 100 feet and landed on his head. This has produced no noticeable change, however.
Buck Kirch has received a promotion to first lieutenant in the Army at Fort Sam Houston in Texas. Lieutenant Buck is the chief of the Administrative Services Division in the Office of the Adjutant General at the fort. He entered the Army in July 1966 after he received his M.B.A. degree from Rutgers. He was last stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Got a letter during the summer from Wally Lord who is now located in Baltimore, Md. Wally was released from active duty in the U. S. Navy in February having attained the grade of Lieutenant j.g. in the supply corps. He is now employed by McCormick & Company in Baltimore in the management development program. He and his wife Paula are now living outside Baltimore in Owings Mills. Ward Witt and Miss Irene Sachs were married over the summer in New York City. Ward received a doctorate in operations research from Cornell University this summer. In September he is to join the faculty of Stanford University as an assistant professor of mathematics. There are now quite a few '64's out in that area. Barry Pressman after graduating from Harvard Medical School in June was married to Miss Beth Jaffe. Beth was a graduate of Lasell Junior College. Ray Noecker and Miss Carlie Ann Astle took the vows over the summer in Whitefield, N. H. After a wedding trip to Jamaica, Ray and Ann are living in New York City.
I received a letter from Jeff Swain who passes on the news that he, his wife Marriane and their daughter Kimberly, six weeks old, are living in Rochester, N. Y. Jeff is working there in the Rochester Bureau of Planning as a city planner. Jeff graduated in June from the University of North Carolina's graduate program in city planning. He relays the news that Fritz Mark is still at UNC's planning school.
Some short notes: Bill Dubocq received his Bachelor of Divinity at Andover Newton Theological School in May. Jim Russo graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Jim is now interning at King County Hospital in Seattle, Wash. AndySalazar also graduated from Jefferson and is now interning at William Beaumont General Hospital, El Paso, Texas. Phil Schaefer and Marion Sobota were engaged in the late spring. Phil is studying for a doctorate degree at California Institute of Technology. George McBath received a master of science degree from Pennsylvania State University. George Luen received his M.D. degree from Northwestern University Medical School. I received a wedding announcement informing me that Lennie Glass and Peggy Jean Kohn were married in June in Bennington, Vt.
