Despite the fact that it is 20° below zero outside, there are still wedding announcements scattered across my desk. Ronald Benz and Miss Wendy Clough were married in December. Wendy went two years to the Dartmouth Medical School and now both she and Ron are at Harvard Med. Lee Slocum and Miss Jill Guinon were married in November. They plan to live in Somerville, Mass. Those are all the details I have from the Sunday Boston Globe. Fred Toettcher and Lynn Cooke were engaged recently. It says here a December wedding is planned. Congratulations! Fred now works for Lever Brothers as a product merchandising assistant in their Household Products Division. Doug Montgomery and Judy Howard have announced their engagement also. They plan a summer wedding. Doug graduated from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University with a Master's degree. in Public Administration and is now studying for his Doctoral Degree.
Frank Rath received the bronze star medal near Chuong Thien, Vietnam, May Captain Rath earned the award for outstanding meritorious service. Frank entered he Army in July 1964.
Tohn Christiansen has been named general sales representative in Boston's South Shore area by Joseph T. Kyerson & Son, Inc., leading metals distributor. John, a Thayer graduate, was a recipient of the Design News Award and, as an undergraduate, was given a student membership in the American Society for Testing and Materials. He moves to Ryerson from the Boston Work Order Department. He and Karen and their daughter are living in Natick, Mass.
Ed Rubel and Earlme Furber have announced their engagement. Earlme is a 1967 Graduate of Skidmore College and is now employed at Compton Advertising in New York. Ed is presently attending Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. They plan a Fune wedding. Bill Becker and Miss Carol Palmer were married in December in Como, Italy. Don Becker '68 served as best man for his brother. Bill attended Amos Tuck and is now in his last year at law school at Harvard Law. The couple will live in Somerville Mass. Another wedding taking place in an international setting was that of John Rowel! and Maria Indatillo. They were married in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They are making their home in the same city. John is employed by J. Walter Thompson Publications, Ltd Whit Foster and Beverly Walker were married in December in California. Whit was in the Peace Corps for two years teaching at St. Michaels Teachers College in Oleh, Nigeria. Whit is now attending graduate school at UCLA preparing for a Master's degree in African studies.
I got a letter recently from Bruce Cross. He writes that he is now working as a law clerk to one of the judges of the Washington State Supreme Court. He has passed the bar exam and is licensed to practice law. Starting in August he will be an associate in one of the major law firms in Seattle. He and his Swedish wife now live in Olympia, Wash.
