Assembling these notes in late September for publication in November is like dressing yesterday for next week's banquet!

Hats off to George Adams who was honored back in June at The Hospital and College of Medicine of Howard University for fifty years of medical practice.

Along in June, Eben Clough was squawking about his vegetable plantings not taking root because of the cold weather and having to bundle up for a fishing trip up into New Hampshire with Kike Richardson. Then in July, he raved about the "hot daze," with another fishing trip scheduled for early August. We wonder how the fish reacted! Eben says there's a mountain up there, Mt. Clough, named after an ancestor of his who, if he hadn't made the grade after 10 years' effort, "there wouldn't have been me!" Eben further reports that Herb Potter was in town headed for Cape Cod on business and pleasure.

We are sorry to learn of the passing of George Liscomb '07. George gave a lot of neophytes friendly guidance during our Hanover days.

Bush Campbell, acknowledging his birthday card, says: "I guess the time has come when I really appreciate 'em"! Don't we all?

A picture card from Helen Rose shows the tip of an island up at Lake George which belonged to her family for years - bought from the original owner in Spain. Helen planned to stay on there until the end of September - "or until it cools off."

A July card from Joel Harris pictures the famous Waikiki Beach where they were visiting their daughter and family. They were planning quite a jaunt out in that area "where the islands are really covered with fabulous volcanic mountains, gorgeous trees and flowers." Quite a tour before returning to San Diego!

Russ and Betty Rice pictured a stunning swimming pool up in Dorset, Vt., prior to returning to the Cape after a jaunt up there. This scribe couldn't identify them amongst the swimmers in the pool!

Howie Fuller, chairman of "Servicemen's Hospitality Corner" in Buffalo, sends a brochure describing the activities of that institution - quite a contribution to those going on duty throughout the world. Howie adds: "This is some evidence to the contrary for any who may think all we do is travel around the Pacific Ocean." The Hospitality Corner is now located at Buffalo's airport.

Chuck Ingram reports AOK out in Tacoma, Wash. Next to visits in person, a friendly letter helps keep alive the friendships and memories of our 1915 classmates!

It is rumored that Roy Norwood of Ipswich, Mass., was instrumental in swinging the town and legislative vote to rebuild the Congregational Church there, an imposing edifice with the oldest clock in America with a huge bell and a rooster weathervane, which was struck by lightning and burned down some years ago. Roy is reported to be in good fettle and well tanned as a result of the summer's exposure!

The Roy Laffertys spent some weeks in Hanover during the summer, imbibing the wholesome atmosphere there and checking up on the football talent that was in prospect for the season. At that time, Roy said the pre-season practice looked good! At this writing, the prospects for good attendance at the pre-Harvard game get-together in Cambridge look promising. However the "cooky crumbles" we will have enjoyed it!

The Bob Griffins and the Phil Murdocks got together for a pleasant September Sunday afternoon and evening at the formers' Tuckahoe home and dined out at a most interesting nearby club. Needless to say, the affairs of the universe got a good going-over and the consensus was that our good country would survive the elections and come up with a continuance of the good life.

With the participants in the World Series decided in mid-September, we can gloat, or otherwise, over our choice of the ultimate winner.

String Downing reports that the HerbPotters' daughter Julia's husband, Bill Quill, is now on the mend after a confining operation — which is good news. Another bit of good news is that Walt Kennedy is back in circulation again after a fall off a ladder while hanging window screens on his home up in Yonkers.

Al Cleveland, on a jaunt up to New Brunswick, Canada, brags about the tasty lobsters up there. What! Better than Maine lobsters, Al?

Inflation has been described as paying twice as much for something yon get half as much of. This may account for a new drink on the market: "Business on the rocks"!

Doc Daisy, up in Greenwich, N. Y., comes up with a cute card: "You're a Frere, Beyond compare!" and reports all's well up there. (Am glad I remember some of my French from World War I!)

And so, once again we approach that "day of days" when we lick our chops, shove up to the loaded table, go to it with gusto, lean back, and then stagger away with a flock of turkey under our belts. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
