The regular reunion of the men of 1905 in Florida, planned conditionally for February 21, has apparently been postponed. This was to have been held as usual at Clearwater Beach. Unfortunately Bill Blatner incurred a heart difficulty which interfered with his plans to reach the Clearwater area at about that time. We hope that the little reunion will be held later and that Bill will be able to attend with Dorothy.
Thanks to Roger Brown, who has been making arrangements for the reunion and has called personally on the '05 men, we have information about each. With Jane, Roger visited C.C. Hills at his regular abiding place at Mt. Dora, where he is happily situated. The three of them had dinner with Leon and Amy Smith at Fruitland Park. They found Amy not very strong, but cheerful and apparently in better health than last year.
From there Jane and Roger drove over to Dunedin and had another pleasant visit with Fred Chase and his cousin, Mrs. Scales. They report having a good winter. Fred told them his brother Steve '96, who, he says, is the oldest Dartmouth graduate, is in failing health. Further reports were of "Cy" and Hilda White in Clearwater Beach and John and Lucy Bell, as usual in Clearwater, all enjoying good health.
This concludes my class notes as of the moment. Perhaps it is pardonable for me to say a word as to Mildred and myself; both of us in good health. While admittedly we would prefer to be in the land of warm winter days, we are enjoying a visit in So. Hadley with little granddaughter, Gay Wilson. Priscilla ("Peggy"), Gay's mother, is on a trip to Georgia and Florida attending as Alumnae Secretary of Mount Holyoke College a series of conferences at various Mount Holyoke centers. Incidentally, Mildred and I have enjoyed visits with a good number of the Putnam family in celebration (somewhat belatedly) of my 85th birthday. We are to return home March 2.
Beatrice, widow of the late Andrew L.MacMillan Jr., died in Westport, Conn., March 3. She had been in poor health for some time. The Class of 1905 extends sympathy to the bereaved family. Bea's presence at our reunions will be missed.
