We have just passed the midway point of what is continuing to be an active year for the Dartmouth Club of Phoenix under the able direction of Dr. Dick Loughry '34.

Regular monthly meetings continue to be held at the Arizona Manor (first Tuesday) and are well attended. Usually on board are Russ Fisher '17 (Treasurer), Frank Poor '26,Dick Holbrook '31, Tower Snow '31, DuneNewell '36, Dr. Wayne Frerichs '46, BillBehrens '56 and Dick Vaules '57. A recent film presentation from the College Library and informal talks by a former FBI agent were particularly entertaining. One of the advantages of living in the Valley of the Sun is the opportunity to welcome our winter visitors and at various times this year we have enjoyed the fellowship of NickCarter '27, Bill Crisp '17 and Dutch Waterbury '12 at our social gathering.

On December 26, we held our holiday reception for candidates, students and their families at Mountain Shadows Country Club. About fifty were on hand and as expected, the evening was highlighted by the oft humorous comments of several willing and enthusiastic undergraduates. Speakers included Gordon Rule '68, Pete Harter '70, Dirck Iacobelli '71, and John Short '71 who no doubt impressed the newcomers with their first-hand impressions of life as it exists today on the Hanover plain.

J. Michael McGean '49, Secretary of the College, will be in our midst on April 4, 1968. In honor of the occasion, we plan to hold our annual banquet at the Mountain Shadows Country Club on the same date, and expect to make good use of his speaking talents during the program. Another feature that evening will be the announcement of the new slate of officers for the coming year.
