Seth Strickland '60 (c) received the John R. Mason Trophy at the Alumni Fund dinner in Syracuse, N. Y., on March 29 in recognition of his 1967 performance as the outstanding Head Class Agent of a class from one to ten years out of college. With him is his father, Carter Strickland '29 (r), former president of the Dartmouth Alumni Council, and William G. Morton '28 (1), former chairman of the Alumni Fund Committee, who made the award with this citation:
Every decade seems to have one or two outstanding classes in Alumni Fund performance and the Class of 1960 is rapidly staking out a claim to preeminence in your decade. During your first six years as alumni you moved rapidly up to the $12,000 level under the effective leadership of Head Agent Bill Batt. Last year, in your first year as Head Agent, you led the class to another fine gain, up to $14,400, 30% better than any previous seventh-year class had ever achieved. The Alumni Fund Committee gratefully salutes the Class of 1960 for showing the way for all classes of the '6os and presents you, Seth, with this award as the outstanding Head Agent of a class from one to ten years out of College.
