Somehow, class events, magazine deadlines and the calendar seem to be completely uncoordinated. Here we are getting ready to go to Hanover for the fall reunion looking forward to foliage, football, and fun and this will reach you almost a month later. Any ideas?

Phil and Madeline Fowler are busy with all of their last-minute planning and we hope that more of you will come. As more and more reach the golden year of retirement, this fall weekend in Hanover should be easier and easier. But will report on who - what - and how much next month. Now for the news - for much is at hand. (Tell me, this year's card to you "ain't drawin flies" - what's wrong with it?)

Ed Ruth drops a line indicating he is still around - this time from Dallas, but "don't say nuthin." Bo Head, on the other hand, had to convey the unpleasant news of NelsRobinson's passing. Bo represented us at the services. Incidentally, he is secretary of the Dartmouth Club of Houston. He recently gathered all six of his grandchildren together in Colorado - his son and family from Los Angeles and daughter and family from Houston. Young Head is a geologist with Texaco and is going to Calgary as assistant district geologist. Bo says Dick Simpson was through Houston recently.

Bill Elliott says he's fine - keeps himself in shape by jogging and "play tennis when I can find someone to beat."

You guys credit me with much more extrasensory perception or intuition than I have. But I did figure an unsigned card came from Reg Vincent. It was from Florida but gave me a clue when he said he retired from First National City Bank, June 1, would continue to maintain their home in Summit, N. J., and were spending the summer at their place at Glenburnie — Northern Lake George. Sounds like a good schedule, Reg.

Hawley Patten writes he will be at the Penn Game with his brother Bob '26 and wife at their home in South Sutton, N. H. Ross Lyon, "Thanks for the old pine which arrived in time for my birthday. Should I thank you for the thought? Our Connecticut division moved bag and baggage to Cape Kennedy - love their new home and the place, but leaves us without nutmeggers to visit. Jim continues to toil and THINK (plug?) from your New London area of the Sound. Had two goes at the blues and not one connected either time." Ross, get HarryMilner as your fishing consultant, advice good and fees low.

I am happy to report a letter from CoggyBroer. He is sufficiently recovered from that ticker attack that he and Sue will be in Hanover for fall reunion. "Though whether I'll be the Broer of old is open to some doubt." Just being there will be great, Coggy, and tell Sue we will keep you on short rations if that is the prescription.

Ruth and Ken Murray stopped by for dinner Saturday on their way to their new home - Heritage Village at Southbury, Conn. They are spending weekends now but when American Can moves out of New York, Ken will commute and then this will be their retirement place. Greatly enthused about house, golf course, neighbors who include Bob Mix. Heritage Village is the big retirement condominium built on Victor Borge's old farm. Ken and Ruth had just returned from a motor trip through Scotland.

Nice note from Jack Sheldon, sending word that he has a conflict and that he and Jan will make Hanover some other weekend this fall. Sorry Jack, we'll miss you, but someone else will have a chance at the number one golf prize.

Gus Cumtnings forwards a word or two from classmates. George Provost says, "9th grandchild arrived in July. What's your score?" Charlie Gibson, "All is well in South Carolina — AI Fusonie '28 visited here recently, had dinner with them and two other Dartmouth couples - Wilton May '29 and Doug Wheale '35."

My first day in New York City in four months, whom do I bump into on 42nd Street but Sid Voice. Sid looks fine but says he has some minor repairs to look forward to. Sent me a great first day cover of the Bicentennial. Got a different one from BillCusack. Public thanks to you both.

If you missed it, be sure and get a copy of Oct. 1 Wall Street Journal. See article on Dartmouth Co-eds, then let me know if you are a "Big Greener!"
