The Third Century Fund Drive will be drawing to its close this December and we hope that everyone will assist in making its goal which marks the 200th anniversary of the granting of the College's Charter.
On October 4 Bob and Lura Kenyon and Allan Brown drove to Hanover to see Dartmouth defeat Holy Cross by a score of 38 to 6 on a clear cool day.
Walter B. Sanborn (Duke) of 1033 Tyrone Blvd., St. Petersburg, Fla., writes that he enjoyed his 86th birthday on September 5. He would love to have classmates visit him. Leon A. Sprague and his daughter Harriet Tucker drove to Anna Maria, Fla., in November for the winter.
Mrs. Earl T. Richards (Carlotta) who lives at the Waterman Heights Nursing Home, Route 44, Greenville, R. I. 02828, writes that she enjoys reading the DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE. It gives her many pleasant things to think of especially those trips to Hanover with her husband for reunions.
Harley E. Mann of North Haverhill, N. H. (Slab City), writes that his wife Mattie fell and broke the bones in her right wrist. She was in the hospital for a week but is now back home. They spend most of their time watching TV. It's a great help!
Classmates having birthdays in December are Earle Fowler, 7; Leon Sprague, 9; Arthur Leavitt, 13; James O'Neill, 17; Charles Richardson, 28; and Harold Niles, 31.
On Saturday October 25 your Secretary received two tickets for the Harvard Dartmouth game from Bob Lyons, Washington, D. C. Bob was not able to come so I took my son-in-law, Theodore George, with me. It was a cloudy day but the game was enjoyable. Dartmouth won 24-10. Bob Blackman should be very proud of the Big Green team this year. It was also quite interesting to see the girl cheer leaders, but we missed seeing the Dartmouth Indian cheer leader mascot who used to be always present at the games.
