Two's a company - three is a crowd. So we had a "crowd" - three of us: Art Allen,Bones Jones, Russ Meredith - gathered to carry on the tradition of an annual Tenner class dinner the night before the Harvard-Dartmouth game. The passing of the years tells the story. But all three of us had an enjoyable time. Entertainment consisted of the recounting by Bones of the nights when Joe. the sandwich man, called out his familiar "Coming, boy." Especially interesting were the tales of late year visits which Bones and Charlie Fay made with Joe. The party broke up early with the assurance that all three expect to be in Hanover in June for our 60th-year reunion.

One justifiable complaint came from Bones who had seats in the bowl of the stadium for the game. That treatment of a man whose class is listed for its 60th reunion shows that someone in Hanover was rather drowsy when assigning tickets. A letter since the game from Jim Everett tells of his location almost on the field - in the wooden stands down in front of the first row in the stadium. We had that location at one earlier game and said "Never again!" A group of Dartmouth players from the "bench" immediately formed a human curtain as they jumped to their feet on the sideline every time Dartmouth made a good gain.

A note from Burt Miller indicates that he, for a change, is well enough to be out of the hospital after his twenty-odd confinements He writes "Am flying north on Hallowe'en night to make our Dartmouth-Yale game in New Haven. We sure have a fine team this year. Sent check weeks ago for ticket and will sit with the Tenners."

When Guy Carpenter sent in his vote of approval putting Bones Jones on the Class Executive Committee he put it this way: "I'm most happy to add my 6 cents worth of endorsement to the nomination of Bones for the Class Executive Committee. At the current rate of inflation as evidenced in our super markets, I am all for Bones, Boston's bully-boy, when it comes to serving up sustenance to the near-starving. I mean those starving for the best of victuals, ever bearing the proud title of Schraffts."

Art Allen reported to "the three of us" having had a letter from Andy Scarlett. Andy stated that the male contingent of the Clearwater crowd is in pretty good physical condition. He could not say as much for the Tenner female contingent. As a matter of fact, just before hearing that news we had word that Art Lord's wife, Bertha, had passed away suddenly. Art and Bertha probably never missed a Tenner reunion so she had many friends in the Class who will sympathize with Art in this time of great sorrow.

News from Bard Bardwell comes by way of a few lines written on his remittance for class dues. He wrote "At this age nothing newsworthy seems to eventuate. I seem to go on about the same and keep busy puttering." From Whit Eastman: "Your note caught us just before we take off for Bermuda for eight days. We leave Friday morning - a jaunt with the Massachusetts Audubon Society."

Robbie Robinson, although continuing to be active, has had to face the possibility of surgery. He writes "I considered having surgery on my hips because a San Francisco surgeon has a special method of doing such operations. Our son-in-law, John Ratcliffe, is a good surgeon and I asked his advice. He considered it and wrote me that he would not advise the surgery, so I am not doing anything about it at present."

We have learned of a terrible tragedy reaching into the family of our Tom Leonard. Tom Jr. and his wife, parents of four teen-aged children, were killed in a head-on automobile collision, near their home in Nashua, N. H. The bodies were burned beyond recognition. Tom Jr. was a promising attorney associated with his father and very active in the life of the community Our sympathy has been extended to Tom.

Chairman Ray Seymour, of our 60th Reunion Committee, wants us to be ready to say that we will be on hand in Hanover next June to celebrate 60 years after graduation. June 12, 13, and 14 are the dates. Watch for details to come from the committee after the first of the year.
