The Dartmouth squash team endured a harrowing week of travel to Harvard and Army and had a mid-January record of 2-3. Harvard, the defending intercollegiate champion, swept past the Indians, 9-0, and Army duplicated the score three days later. The Green defeated Brown and M.I.T. earlier and bowed at Williams.

Geoff Scott, fifth-ranked nationally at the start of the season, has been at the top of Coach John Kenfield's ladder, while three sophomores—Justin Stanley, Jim Smith, and Dave Miskell—have moved into the middle of the lineup and shown the signs of creating a solid nucleus for the future.

Dartmouth's track team scored a 63-45 victory over Colgate in its initial home meet after bowing at Cornell in the opener, 60-49. The Indians capitalized on a great one-two performance from Dave Warner (Denver, Colo.) and Dave Ullrich (Wausau, Wis.) in the 1000-yard run and took the mile relay by eight-tenths of a second to seal the victory over Colgate. George Remmer (Oakdale, N. Y.) broke the 35-year-old Dartmouth record in the 16-pound shot ,with a toss of 51 feet, 3½ inches. The old record of 50 feet, 2 inches was set in 1934 by Tony Geniawicz '37. DeWitt Davies (East Patchogue, N. Y.) and Remmer also led a Dartmouth sweep of the 35pound weight throw to give Dartmouth key points.

A shortage of manpower has cost Dartmouth's varsity wrestlers matches with New Hampshire and M.I.T. but John Hammerschmidt, a sophomore from Harrison, Ark., took a fine decision in the 152-pound event against M.I.T.

The Dartmouth freshman wrestlers have spurred Coach George Darlington's hopes for future growth in the mat sport. The Little Indians have a 2-0 record, defeating both New Hampshire and M.I.T.
