Since I'm wearing the hats of both reunion chairman and class secretary this year I'm tempted to punt the column this month and turn it into a propaganda sheet for our June festivities. However, I'll try to be fair to all parties and provide some news herein. But before I get carried away by a sense of fair play let me assure you that our reunion plans are really humming along. In keeping with the reunion committee's desire to make this an educational as well as a hedonistic weekend we have wangled an invitation from the class of '59 to participate in their seminars, "Bridging the Gap 1959-1969," on Friday afternoon. Many less intellectual activities will, of course, ensue.

Wedding bells and newborn babes continue to. monopolize the class news:

Barry Gross has written to announce the arrival of his first, Miriam Eva, on Christmas Eve. Barry, Sara, and baby are living in Philadelphia where he is finishing up his studies at Jefferson Med. He expects to intern at one of New York City's major hospitals.

The word from Vancouver, British Columbia, is that Norm Leach has finally been tied down. Last October 11 he married Miss Johanne Square (University of Manitoba and Carleton) in Winnipeg. Norm is with CP Air, an international freight carrier, and from some remarks in his letter it's clear that he and his new wife are full advantage of the fringe benefits available to the airline's employees. Fiji and Hawaii were two of the spots Norm casually listed. His letter also read like a Vancouver Chamber of Commerce billboard - obviously the Leaches love their hometown.

Bill Gorton's wife, Sydney, gave birth to a husky little girl, Elizabeth Sydney, on Jan. 9. Bill is a lieutenant with the Adjutants Corp. at Ft. Sill, Okla.

Jay Johnston passed the good word about the Gortons on to me, and then mentioned that he and Katherine are expecting in early June. They're potential reunion returnees if Mother Nature cooperates.

The University of Miami has recently announced the election of Bob Eckert as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review there. A well deserved honor to cap an outstanding law school career for him.

In a recent column I mentioned Dave Ruhnke's disillusionment with the Peace Corps. Well I'm happy to report that his memories of his two-year stint won't be all bad. He chose his Peace Corps station as the site of his marriage to Miss Joan Ceferatti (Rutgers) in December. Joan is employed by the Philippine government but is Dave's hometown honey.

A photograph arrived the other day from Capt. Dan Walden showing a battle weary trio of '65's. The picture was entitled "The Dartmouth Club of Nowhere" and featured Dan, Capt. Tom Miller and Lt. Don Boardman. The former roommates' paths crossed at Long Binh, Viet Nam in early November. Dan returned to the States in late fall with a Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal, and is now stationed at The Army Signal School, Fort Monmouth, N. J. Tom is at Fort Dix and Don is not scheduled to return home from Southeast Asia until next fall.

Another '65 has recently happily bid adieu to Viet Nam. Bob Koury returned to the States in mid-February to spend the final 18 months of his Marine Corps stint in their Data Systems Section. He and Donna intend to be reuners this June.

Tom Barnett writes from Chicago and tells about everyone else, but not a word about himself, because he doesn't trust my editing abilities. We think he's finishing up at Northwestern Law School, but his correspondence gives no clues.

The King of Snows at the recent Saranac Lake Winter Carnival was none other than our own Palmer C. D. Wooglin. He not only stole the show with his "gear," but also placed first in the Pass-Punt Pentathlon.

There are some reunion issues on which you all have a say. First of all, the committee will welcome suggestions for a faculty guest list for Saturday night's Class Dinner at the DOC House and for informal invitations to be extended to join us at the tent on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, PeteFrederick is heading the nominating committee charged with the job of recommending a new slate of officers for the 1969-1975 term. I know that he would enjoy receiving suggestions. Any ideas or proposals concerning reunion or the class officers can be sent to me and I'll get them to the appropriate people.

Steve Waterhouse and I have been very busy working out the reunion budget and tax. By the time you read this you will have received other mail from me regarding June specifics. We're coming down the home stretch now, only three months until the big weekend. Make your own plans - then call a classmate and encourage him to jump on the bandwagon.

Happy St. Pat's day!
