Welcome back! Well, we're a year farther removed from the Green scene, and thanks to the graduation of the Class of 1966 we are no longer the babies of the alumni family. Of course this alumni maturity is characterized by various traumatic novelties — fewer names are personally recognizable on the football roster - who can we congratulate at Cambridge, New Haven, and Han- over? Now we must send in for football tickets via the DCAC forms, which, because of our youthful alumni status, entitle us to seats closer to Hanover high school than to the gridiron of Memorial Field.

I've been deluged with letters, cards, clippings, invitations, and announcements over the summer, which indicates to me that our class is very much alive and kickin'.

On June 5 Joel Sternman was married to Miss Elizabeth Joan Myers (Syracuse Univ.). Joel will continue his law studies at Yale where his wife is a computer programmer.

The summer festivities continued on June 11 when Dan Walden married Miss JoAnn North (Wheelock '66) in Westport, Conn. Dan attends Georgetown Law School and is also a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate's General Corps. Dan and JoAnn will live in Arlington, Va., and JoAnn will teach at St. John's School in Fairfax, Va. Don Boardman, Harry Margolin, and Steve Smith were ushers.

June 18 was a busy day for '65 weddings. I was present for the marriage of PeteFrederick to Miss Marcia Hoffman (Mount Holyoke '66) in Manhassett, N. Y. The highlight of the reception was the performance of a Sphinx delegation consisting of Larry Duffy, John Richardson, Dave Perinchief, Jaan Lumi, and Larry Goldberger, who chanted a rather unintelligible medieval ballad while presenting Pete and Marcia with their gift from the Tomb. IvarsJanieks came all the way from Kansas City for the big event. Harry Crosswell was Pete's best man, and Mike Buckley and Larry Goldberger were ushers. The Rev. Bill Dubocq '64 assisted at the ceremony. Pete is with the DuPont Co., and he and Marcia are living in Talleyville, Del.

On the same day Rog Snyder married Miss Lee Kelsey in Summit, N. J. Both Roger and Lee will be doing graduate work at Syracuse University this year.

June 18 also appealed to Dick Tabors and Miss Jean Ogden (Smith '66) who were married in Rochester, N. Y. They will live in Syracuse where Dick is a doctoral candidate at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.

Ric Bogel married Miss Lynda Wagoner in Princeton, N. J., on June 20. Lynda attended Barnard College and will spend her senior year at Yale where Ric is a candidate for a doctorate in English.

Hank Amon, our newsletter editor, decided to make some news, and he provided himself with front page material when he married Miss Deborah MacMillan (Penn State) on June 25 in Little Compton, R. I. Hank and Debbie honeymooned in Europe and then returned to Ann Arbor, Mich., where Hank is a second year student at Michigan Law. By Ford and Frank Binder were among the ushers at the wedding.

Dick Bordeau also picked June 25 for his marriage to Miss Jean McGregor (Russell Sage '66) in Reading, Mass. They will live in Rochester, N. Y. Pete Jones was an usher.

Another Dartmouth wedding on June 25 saw John Purves marry Miss Susan Unger (Miami O. Univ.) in Albany, N. Y. John and his bride will live in Brookline, Mass., while he attends B.U. Law School and she teaches school in the Ashland, Mass., school system.

Finally on June 25 John Bullock married Miss Gretchen Hageman (DePauw '66). John graduated from Dartmouth Med in June and is now studying at Harvard Medical School.

On July 10 Rich Bloch was married to Miss Susan Low (Smith '66). They will live in Ann Arbor, Mich., where Rich attends Michigan Law.

Bill Marco wed Miss Joan Marie McDonald on July 23. Bill spent last year at American International School in Springfield, Mass., as a graduate student and is now a student at the Univ. of Pennsylvania Dental School. Jean-will teach in the King of Prussia (Pa.) school system.

On August 13 Kris Greene took Miss Joan Leyrer, a Mary Hitchcock grad, as his bride. They will live in Philadelphia while Joan does graduate work at Penn and Kris studies at the Univ. of Pennsylvania Med School.

Among the engagements announced this summer was John Davenport's to Miss Sandra Hyvarinen (Barnard '64). Both John and Sandra graduated from Dartmouth Med in June, and they will continue their medical studies at McGill University.

Also the engagement of Neil Grossman to Miss Rebekah Ralen has been announced by her parents. Rebekah is a graduate of Lasell Jr. College and the Beth Israel Hospital of Dental Nursing. Neil is a sales rep with the Old Colony Packing Company in Boston. They plan to be married next May.

Woody Stopford has become engaged to Miss Carolyn Rolfe (Conn. College '66). Woody is a second year student at Dartmouth Med.

John Seel writes that he is engaged to Miss Laura Spector (Queens College, NYC '65). John attends NYU Law School and Laura teaches and attends Queens College as a Master's candidate. They plan a June 1967 wedding.

Army second lieutenant Dave Hazelton is the new Headquarters Company Commander, Troop Command, at Camp Carroll Depot in Waegan, Korea. Dave, who began his Army career with four years of ROTC at Dartmouth, along with being .president of Bait & Bullet and secretary of Cabin and Trail, was last stationed at Fort Bennmg, Georgia. His wife Susan lives in Hebron, N. H.

I've heard from many '65's over the summer on a less romantic level. Bruce Miller is an ensign in the Navy on duty off the Vietnamese coast. Bruce graduated from OCS in December and was stationed at Norfolk, Va., until his departure for Viet Nam in June. Incidentally, Russ Capelle, TuckyMays, Bob Blake, Danny Morgan and KentHampton are all naval officers serving in the Pacific and have all seen action in Vietnamese waters. Mays has also seen quite a bit of action on dry land as evidenced by the postcards I've received from Tokyo, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Manila, etc., etc.

Ken Lieberthal writes that he is enrolled in the Department of Public Law and Government at Columbia as well as in the East Asian Institute. He is studying simultaneously for his M.A. in Chinese Communist affairs, an Institute certificate in Chinese Area studies, and a Ph.D. in International Relations. Oh yeah, in his spare time (spare time?) Ken is president of the Graduate Political Science Society. Ken rooms with Howie Myers, who is at Columbia Law School.

Finally, on behalf of the whole class I'd like to thank Larry Duffy for the great job he did heading our Fund drive. I know a little bit about the time and energy that had to be expended for our class to reach the totals it did. and Duff deserves all the praise we can give him. He heads to the Navy now and we wish him and Merry all the best.
