Warren Cassidy, who was elected Mayor of Lynn, Mass., two years ago, lost a reelection bid in what was, according to the Boston Herald Traveler, a real slugfest. Warren's opponent, an old-time politician, branded our noble classmate part of the "establishment," an apparently fatal epithet. Said Warren, "I came in as an amateur politican and I'm going out as one." Cassidy said his family—wife Joan and five children—were disappointed by the loss, but agreed that the fact that father was out of the hot seat after two years could bring relief later. "At least the phone will stay on the hook for a while," he said.
