S. Heagan Bayles '33 of Sands Point, N.Y., a leading advertising executive, has been elected chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Hanover Inn. He has been a member of the Board since 1964.

Mr. Bayles began his advertising career immediately following graduation from Dartmouth, with the firm of Ruthrauff and Ryan, where he was vice president and director in charge of radio until 1946. During World War II he served in the Office of War Information. After the war he and three associates formed their own agency, and he is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of that firm, Sullivan, Stauffer, Colwell & Bayles, Inc. From its adventurous beginning in 1946, the New York City agency grew to become one of the nation's largest with annual billings of well over $100 million.
