Charlie Moore is working assiduously on plans for our 45th Reunion to be held at Hanover from Monday to Wednesday, June 15-17, 1970. Those who attended our 40th will recall what a bang-up job Charlie did to insure a good time for all and it's reasonable to assume that he hasn't lost his touch. He's already lined up an attractive program. If you haven't answered the mailing which went out the middle of February, you are urged to do so without further delay - hopefully with word that you will join the group.

Once again we're indebted to our congenial treasurer, Eddie Roessler for news gathered in the course of his class dues solicitations. Your secretary was struck with amazement upon reading the first note which met his eye. It read: "I don't know who reports class news, but I noticed that no mention of prominent 25'ers attending the Princeton game was made in the last issue. I refer specifically to you, Frank wallis, Milt Emerson, and Bill Pugh and their lovely wives. Seems to me that wider coverage should be made ...." Your class notes editor obviously cannot be everywhere at all times and must of course rely on classmates to send him the news for those notes - for which he frequently enters a fervent plea!

Barrett Lyons has been an "emeritus" since last June, some of the benefits thereof being free parking on the M.S.U. campus, almost free athletic tickets and use of the gym (he swims ¼ to ½ mile daily). Chet Morrison retired at the end of last year. Jake Penney was reported by Ruth as being in the hospital with a fractured hip without explanation of how it happened. Jack Robison explained his move to Laguna Hills, Calif., last November by stating, "Can't take the cold winters any more. Playing tennis every day!" Dave Ames wrote from England correctly, "So I have achieved distinction at last! The only one ('25er) remaining abroad." Carl Clifton is enjoying retirement and keeping quite busy on some specialized insurance work for Savings & Loan Associations. Speedy Fleet reports, "We are having a rough winter on Long Island and hope to get down to Florida by the middle of this month."

From Bud Petrequin: "Sally and I are enjoying our home in Aspen, Colo., for a couple of months. ...We expect Gin and Pete Haffenreffer out here for a visit early in .March. They will be on their way from St. Louis to California and Arizona for a vacation." Bill Sleigh is currently being "meeting'd to death" with Marblehead Finance Committee, Bar Association Committees and others. He was planning on a couple of weeks in the Caribbean late in February and hoped to see Nort Canfield with a view toward prevailing upon him to attend our reunion. Ben Werntz is curling four times a week and throwing away junk the other days. By April he and Margo will be "setting off for somewhere." Gordie Marvel reported daughter Jo is engaged to Richard W. Hull, Ph.D., son of Dr. Donald B. Hull '24, with June marriage planned. Bob and Baba Cubbins have established a new winter home (11/15-4/15) at 140 Golfview Drive, Tequesta, Fla. 33458.

Zeke Carswell, retired the past five years, is busy with civic, church, and charitable work and temporarily helping out with Uncle Sam's census. Harry White, performing at Holiday Inn, Sunbury, Pa., and radio broadcasting twice a week, met the radio station manager who turned out to be Robert Manning, son of our late classmate, Al Manning.

Bob Misch will be the monthly wine columnist in McCall's Magazine, beginning with the March 1970 issue. It's to be called "The Wine Corner."

Larry Leavitt and Dot, of course, took off the middle of February for a couple of days in Rome, two weeks in Bombay (with their daughter) and nine days in Athens. He thinks there's a chance that the Lou Kimballs will be summering at Lake Sunapee, where he's found them "a nice cottage quite near us."

Jerry Greenebaum is still working as hard as ever at Consolidated Litho Corp. and has no intention of retiring. He manages to get time off for some travelling. His latest trip was to Japan and Hong Kong with stopovers at Hawaii and San Francisco. He's planning an October trip to Spain and Portugal. Jibber Gutterman wrote from Montego Bay, Jamaica, "Here for a month or so after a few weeks in Pompano Beach, Fla. Florida weather - you can have it!" Lou Kimball writes, "We had Frank and Ellie Wallis here for a few days on their way south to Marco Island for the next three months. ... We expect Bill and BillieJenkins here Saturday for a few days." George Moore has been enjoying retirement since last May. Ken Parker was planning to tramp the family timberlands" in Mississippi, then travel to Greece for a week. He was also planning to ski with Eddie D - in Colorado in March. Larry Welch retired and moved to 44881 Birchwood Ave., Seal Beach, Calif. 90740.

Our condolences are extended to Rad Oxley on the death of his wife, Janie, early in February.
