"The Grand Rapids, Mich., Press," on January 9, 1970 carried a front page article on John S. Edison being named Outstanding Young Man of the Year by the Grand Rapids Jaycees. John is a partner in the L.W. Edison Co., a road building firm, but has obviously been active in many community and church leadership roles. John, his wife Penny, and three sons live in Grand Rapids. Congratulations to John on this well deserved honor.
An article from "Mining Engineering" in December, 1969, mentioned Jim Loghry. Jim is regional geologist at the National Lead Company Exploration Office in Tucson. Prior to this position, Jim was a consulting geologist traveling extensively throughout the world.
Ben Taylor, still a confirmed bachelor, has been promoted to vice president of New England Merchants National Bank in Boston. Ben is a member of the Correspondent Bank Department.
Howard R. Webber has been appointed director of the M.I.T. Press effective July 1, 1970. Howard is currently director of the Press of Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. He is married to the former Helen McCubbin of Detroit and they have three children.
Dr. Gerald C. Finkel, a professor at New York University Medical School, has been appointed vice president of Medical Affairs of Nuclear Research Associates, Inc., New Hyde Park, N. Y. In his new part, Gerald will direct the company's medical program including research into new areas of application in computer automated biological cell analysis. He and his wife, Phyllis, and two children reside at Kings Point, N. Y.
Marriage has taken one more of our bachelors, Pete Hovell. Miss Margaret Tama, a systems engineer for IBM, and Pete, a senior vice president of American Express Company, were married January 23, 1970. Margaret is a graduate of Marywood College. Scranton, Pa. Congratulations to both Pete and Margaret.
Peter Rosazza is still teaching modern languages at St. Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield Conn. He recently had dinner at the home of the Chet Zinns. Bill Benson is a member of a three-man orthopedic surgery group in Kansas City. He is still single but by no means a confirmed bachelor. Bui reports an excellent group of Dartmouth graduates in the Kansas City area, and more are always welcome! Bob Beatly, believing that education is a continuing process, finished up his work for an MBA from CaseWestern Reserve University, Cleveland, in June. 1969. He is now working as an accountant for Haskins and Sells, C.P.A.'s. Lots of travel and hard work but good fun, he reports. Bert Poritzky is a practicing attorney in St. Paul. He sees Roger andJanet Griffin frequently. Winston J. Bridge reports a full schedule of civic, business (lawyer and banking), and alumni (president Dartmouth Minuteman Alumni Association) activities in Boston. He says he is a trifle heavy for piloting aircraft but otherwise quite fit. Gene White and his wife report a vigorous campaign of mountain _ climbing. Last summer a 22,000 ft. mountain in Peru and for this summer they are attempting to get permission to climb the highest unclimbed mountain in the world. As you might imagine, Gene recently started a rock climbing equipment manufacturing company called Forest Mountaineering Inc. Lawrence Morse is in the Ph.D. program in Humanities at Syracuse University. He is working in Oriental art, especially poetry. Larry is connected with New England College in Henniker, N. H., where he is an assistant professor of English. John Wetzel lives in Trumbull, Conn., and teaches in a high school. Frederick B. Johnson and his wife Elaine are a teaching team at Northfield and Mt. Hermon Schools. Fred is a one-man Russian department and Elaine is a head of hall. Their home is next to a hall with 60 girls! Prior to his association with Northfield School, Fred spent 5 years teaching at University of Toronto.

Harper is not a naval aviatorand is one of the few surface line officersto receive the Air Medal. As the operations officer for the Navy's River PatrolForce in the Mekong Delta, he flew numerous missions as a technical observerin direct support of combat operations.
