This month marks the midway point of the 1970 Alumni Fund Drive. Head Agent Sandy McCulloch has set a goal of "Fifty from Fifty": $50,000 from 1950, as a challenging objective. Yes, it's very challenging, and substantially above the "Green Derby" objective. However, last year a class junior to us — 1953 — exceeded this sum and Sandy is of the firm opinion that we can do it too!

Certainly one should consider this a wonderful way to welcome President Kemeny into office, to say "thank you" to President Dickey, and to effectively note our "twentieth." Even more significant is the fact that it's a tremendously meaningful way to show support for quality education.

We realize that the Third Century Fund still is in progress, and it too needs your strong support. Inflation has created a substantial need for more dollars for both funds; the "early returns" indicate that the early contributors are recognizing this need by increased giving, and we hope that this will continue; additional momentum for the "Fifty from Fifty" goal is sought from those who were non-contributors in past year(s).

Reunion is coming ever-closer! By now the program has been well-publicized, so I'll just say that we do expect good attendance, including that for the "Profiles of the Future" day, which is the Mini-Alumni College day commencing at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 18.
