AT the end of the first three weeks of the campaign the 1970 Alumni Fund showed contributions of $617,512 from 5,388 donors. It was trailing last year's results on that date, being 830 behind in number of contributors and $102,000 in dollars.

Fund Chairman Richard D. Lombard '53 was maintaining his optimism about achieving this year's goal of $2,148,548. "The Third Century Fund has had some effect on the early, large giving which got the Fund off to such fast starts in past years," he said. "But the 1970 campaign is only three weeks old, and the figures to date indicate that we have a greater potential than ever before. Our job is to realize that potential, and with the interest and support that Dartmouth men have always given to this annual effort, I am confident that we will be up to the mark when the Fund closes on June 30."
