Our annual meeting was held on February 18 at the Country Club of Orlando and our guest speaker from Hanover was John A. Rassais, Professor of Romance Languages. Prof. Rassias brought an unusually fine message from the College and gave us an interesting insight into the Foreign Study Program. His talk was followed by a very informative question and answer period. It was a great pleasure to have John and his charming wife Mary with us and we hope that they can plan to visit this area again in the near future.

On Thursday morning, April 9, our Club was most fortunate to have as our guest speaker at a special breakfast meeting, Retired Ambassador Ellis O. Briggs '20. Ellis and his wife Lucy were on their way back to Hanover from Captiva, Fla. and passed through Winter Park, a change of routing from previous years. Needless to say, Ellis gave a most interesting talk on the State Department including some of his personal experiences. He also brought us up-to-date on events in Hanover. We are very much indebted to Ellis for taking this time from a busy return trip to Hanover, and it is our sincere hope that he will return here in the near future to address a larger group of our alumni and their wives.

This was our first experience with a breakfast meeting, and our officers will seriously consider having more of them in the future. We have had a very successful season and plans are already being discussed for another active schedule next year.
