The annual meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Central Florida was held on Tuesday evening, March 18, at the Dubsdread Country Club in Orlando. This meeting was held in conjunction with the Third Century Fund drive. There were over seventy alumni and drive. wives present. Our new president, "Bud" Wesselmann '27, who has taken over since our former president Randy Wilson '52 was transferred to Memphis, called the meeting to order.
Following an invocation by Don Cheney'11 and a delightful dinner, Bud then introduced from the College Athletic Director Seaver Peters '54 who gave us a most interesting picture of not only the athletic activities at Dartmouth, but initiated an open discussion on various other phases of Dartmouth today, all of which were intensely interesting for those of us so far removed from the campus.
President Wesselmann then introduced Dick Proctor '43, chairman of this area's Third Century Fund program. Dick in turn introduced Jack Dodd '22, who at the last minute substituted for Dean Myron Tribus of the Thayer School. Jack did an outstanding ob in presenting the story of the Third Century Fund and the important part that all alumni can play in making it successful. We feel sure that this area will more than fill its quota so that the College can enter its third century with the funds so necessary to keep pace with the future needs of Dartmouth.
We thank all alumni that attended and after the singing of "Men of Dartmouth" led by Carl Pfau '13, a most successful meeting was adjourned by President Wesselmann.
