Our annual Christmas luncheon was held on Friday, Dec. 27 at the Mt. Vernon Motor Lodge in Winter Park. There were twenty Dartmouth men present including three undergraduates from this immediate area, namely Chuck Shaver '69, Pete Robinson '70 and Richard Proctor Jr. '72. Before sitting down to lunch, we all toasted our Alma Mater with a tasty and very unique elixir furnished by the one and only DonCheney '11.
After lunch, the undergraduates were introduced and each gave a short talk about the College and then answered various questions from the alumni. These boys are well informed, and are a great addition and credit to the College. John Shanahan '71, and D. Ross Miller Jr. '72 had planned to attend, but were unable to at the last minute.
Your secretary's son, Dr. Ken Thomas '56 had been in town, but unfortunately had to leave earlier in the day to return to duty in Vietnam. It was a pleasure to welcome an- other holiday visitor, Dr. Bob Bradish '22 who had a reunion with Earl Fredericks '22 after some 40 odd years. Tom Groves' '18 son, Nick was another nice addition to our group. Ric Matthies '62 is on duty with the Navy here, but unfortunately for only a short time before retiring to California.
We are looking forward to our annual meeting on March 18, 1969, when we will welcome Seaver Peters '54, the new Director of Athletics. As we are so far removed from the College, a visit such as this one is the highlight of the year. Any alumni planning to be in this area at that time and in fact at any time, will receive a hearty welcome. As they say in the South, "y'all come."
