One of the most interesting aspects of reunion was learning about the life styles of "55s." Chubbing has become popular for several such as the Tama Ann and TedEly and Natalie and Nelson Jones families. Both report having many trips into the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire. The Bob Lieders took a raft trip through the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River organized by Bud Bombard's Chalet Club. They were fascinated with the experience and recommend it highly to other couples. Betty Jo and JimNelsen purchased a canoe two years ago and have spent many wonderful weekends on Wisconsin's beautiful rivers.
Joan and Doug Melville are avid golfers. Attesting to their skill is their combined 167 scored the Sunday afternoon reunion ended. This was good enough to win the Husband-Wife Championship at their club in Old Greenwich, Conn.
Pete Buhler is now a Vice President of Continental Investment Corp., a financial services and real estate holding company in Boston. After receiving an M.S. from Thayer, Pete did a three-year stint as a Navy officer and then joined the Bechtel Corp. Before going to Continental Investment in 1968, he was a partner in the man- agement consulting firm of McKinsey and Co. in Cleveland. Pete and his wife, the former Elizabeth Ann Lindsay, and two children live in Weston, Mass.
Rosemary and Web Wilde welcomed, their third child, Jennie on July 19. Rosemary was determined to enjoy reunion before this event occurred. Web supports this brood by managing overseas activities for Cross Pen Co. In his spare time he has finally managed to convince roomie DickMount to take the plunge. Boston and 55's most eligible bachelor has finally decided to settle down. Watch for further details in later columns!
Congratulations to Lyn Brock for accepting the challenge of serving as a trustee for Peine Jr. College of Philadelphia. Bob Perkins reports a new address of Cormandel Valley, South Australia. Carolyn and Dick Wilson's plans for reunion were thwarted by family illness. They were sorely disappointed but did visit Hanover the following weekend. Lol Turner recently returned from Athens College Greece to Western Reserve Academy, Hudson, Ohio.
Joy Mac Lean and her four children now live at 5812 N. 7th Place, Scottsdale, Arizona, having moved there from Kenil-worth, Illinois a year ago. They are enjoying life there very much. Son John, age 12, was last seen at Big Crab Lake, near Boulder Junction, Wis., making friends with a baby skunk! He spent the summer there with his grandparents.
