It was very pleasing to learn from his Christmas card that Dave Oberlander has been elected a partner of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell. He is based in Dallas and travels extensively in the Southwest providing expertise to clients in the area of marketing. Dave spent a number of years working in the Chicago area before transferring to Dallas about six years ago. He and Martha have three children, all of whom are musically inclined.

Our environmentalist, John French, was recently appointed by New York Governor Carey as a panelist "to study environmental problems and recommend solutions to present and foreseeable future problems." I'm sure he would appreciate hearing from any of you on this subject.

An address change card indicates that DaveConlan has transferred from Puerto Rico to Charlotte, N.C. Dave is a partner in Arthur Anderson and Co.

Pat McCarthy, Jim McKendry, and Jerry O'Sullivan please take special note. We have an expert on Irish history and culture in our midst in the person of Doug Archibald! Doug is chairman of the English Department at Colby College, Maine. He has recently authored a biography of John Butler Yeats which was published by the Bucknell University Press. Doug taught at Cornell University for several years before going to Colby. He received M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the U. of Michigan.

Bob Keane is another English professor and author. He is at Hofstra University on Long Island.

Dr. Larry Pilchman of Lakewood, Calif., recently travelled to Italy where he bumped into Jay Betienson in Venice. He says that while Venice is indeed sinking Jay is not. He hasn't changed a hair since graduation..

Rev. Joe Herring is rector of St. Stephen's Church, Millburn, N.J. He dabbles in local politics and has recently constructed a vacation and retirement home at Blueberry Hill near Hanover. His N.J. neighbor, Fred Darche, moved to a larger home in Spring Lake last summer. The Darches' two older children are at preparatory schools, Exeter and Madiera, but their two little girls are still at home.
