Two appointments for administrative direction of the Tucker Foundation have recently been announced. The Rev. Paul W. Rahmeier, College Chaplain, has been named Acting Dean for this academic year. John D. Bryant has been appointed Executive Officer.
Mr. Rahmeier, who is also adviser to the Dartmouth Christian Union and a member of the Foundation staff, will serve in the absence of Dean Charles F. Dey '52, who is on sabbatical leave. Mr. Bryant, an Assistant Treasurer of the College since 1967, succeeds Richard K. Fox, who was recently named Assistant Dean for Development for the Foundation.
A native Texan who grew up in Missouri, Mr. Rahmeier did his undergraduate work at Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Ill. He also holds a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, a master's from Oberlin College, and a Ph.D. from Drew University.
Before coming to Dartmouth in 1967, he was director of religious activities at Oberlin from 1960 to 1965. He had also served with the Department of Campus Christian Life for the United Church of Christ, as director of youth ministry for the Webster Groves, Missouri, Presbyterian Church, and as assistant chaplain at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Bryant, a Tufts University graduate, will be chief fiscal officer responsible for the Foundation's financial planning, contract negotiations, and staff management. He came to the College in 1963 as Assistant to the Treasurer from a position with Bethlehem Steel Company's shipbuilding division in Quincy, Mass. Mr. Bryant is an overseer of WDCR, a member of the Committee on Student Organizations, and a trustee of the Outward Bound program.
