The only thing which distinguished this column was its conspicuous position, and now that's been unsurped by '7l. As a mat- ter of fact it has become pretty obvious that this is perhaps the last place where those accomplishments which most distinguish our class might appear. Reasons for this are pretty obvious as well, and they're good ones. So I guess it's time to drop any pretensions and go the way of most of the columns peacefully—admitting that news value should be the top priority.
(This policy decision is based on a couple of minutes' reflection, and is subject to change, depending on what comes filtering through Crosby Hall or the U.S. Mail. Any Manifestos out there? Imagine becoming obsessed with "The Nature of News Notes" in the first place!)
Here's some lukewarm graduate school news—I trust most of these people are still where they were reported to have been a number of months ago.
Bruce Blumberg spent the summer in Seattle after completing a year at Yale Medical School. Gerard del Junco is a sophomore at the University of Colorado Medical School and last summer worked on a research scholarship awarded by the Allergy Foundation of America. RobertScheff was also the recipient of a summer research fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Day Krolik was at last word at N.Y.U. Law School. Those last seen at Harvard Law include Larry Gotlieb, Charlie Johnson,Lee Badger and Larry Silverstein.
While in Hanover several weeks ago, I ran into Kevin Cunningham and FredNitschelm, both of whom are beginning at Tuck School this year. Mark Hebenstreit and Linda Clark were married this summer and now live outside of Orford. Mark is still at Thayer School.
Jim Aukerman now commutes between the Capitol library in Providence and Boston, where he has just begun a part-time law program. Sam Crocker is holed up in New Britain, Conn., where he is a trouble shooter for the Stanley Tool works. Seems whenever they got trouble they call him away from his motorized unicycles and hotair balloons—there haven't been too many launchings recently.
Leasco Response Incorporated has appointed Bill Wendell a marketing representative. Leasco is a big computer services company which computes throughout the nation. In his new position, Bill journeys to Washington, D. c. not as a member of the Administration no: to testify before any Congressional com- mittees. He is currently attending a Leasco-sponsored marketing seminar at American University. Upon conmpletion of his training, he will be assigned to one of the company's 11 offices. Here we go with a few more marriages!

That's about all I have on hand. I expect to be going west again to seek my fortune again before long, but the above address is probably the best bet for awhile. Would be glad to hear from people.
