What with preparations and travels there has been a scarcity of class news coming in over the holidays. I was surprised and delighted to receive a Christmas card from Ed and Adele Grace who are in Ed's home town of St. Louis. Ed reported he sees Jimmy Jones who is still a bachelor (Clark Barrett is another one for the survey in Pacesetter) and he mentioned seeing Bud Hanley in the Chicago area and he wistfully mentioned the Lake Charlevoix "cottage" of Chuck Ervin. It would sure be helpful if I had a few more volunteer deputies to cover the larger cities, such as Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Denver.
During the summer while the MAGAZINE was in limbo King Van Denburg became a grandfather and I hope to join my former roommate in this regard as son Frederic S. Becker '69 has become engaged this past month.
Hamilton B. Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of Dun & Bradstreet, Inc., was recently elected a director of Union Pacific Corp. and its principal subsidiary, Union Pacific Railroad.
This past summer Robb B. Kelley was elected president and treasurer of Employers Mutual Casualty Company and two other affiliated carriers. Robb is a director of Conference of Mutual Casualty Companies and a director and member of National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. Always active in community activities, he was the 1967 recipient of the National Conference of Christian and Jews Brotherhood Award.
Alfred R. Wolff, Dean of Student Personnel at the University of Bridgeport, was recently named to a panel of educators and administrators who related their area of competence to the current campus unrest and other problems. The discussion was held in the Jewish Community Center in Bridgeport, Conn. Al, now known as Dr. Wolff, received his Doctorate at Columbia University and joined the faculty of University of Bridgeport in 1946.
