Not far behind are three who have a record of 54 years: PhilipChase, Clifford Norris, and CharlesRichardson. Let's give them a loud Wah Hoo Wah!
On Washington's Birthday I was greatly surprised to receive a long distance telephone call from Bob Lyons of Washington. D. C. For fifteen minutes we talked about how wonderful "The College on the Hill" was.

I think that you classmates will be interested to know that for the past twelve years I have been fund chairman for Upton for the American Red Cross. During the month of March I had 56 solicitors who made house-to-house calls, and on March 1 during the Upton town election I was deputy warden in charge of the ballot box. So you see your president and secretary always tries to keep busy.
A letter from Gardner Ashley '40, son of Ed Ashley who passed away in October, speaks of how much his father treasured his close friendships with '07 classmates and with Dartmouth men in contemporary classes, such as Roger Brown '05, Frank Drake of '02, and Larry Treadway '08. Ed kept in touch with classmates by letter and visit and was faithful in attending reunions, including the 50th and 60th.
Ed was a native Vermonter, from South Royalton. He entered Dartmouth from Dean Academy and immediately after graduation was named principal of Wilder (Vt.) High School. Six years later he joined the Pullman Company, in the Boston office. Later in his 40-year career with that company he was in the main office in Chicago.
Ed's wife Cornelia died several years ago. Besides his son Gardner, who is Associate Professor of French at Franklin College in Indiana, two daughters survive: Eleanor of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Robert F. (Julie) Acker of Des Plaines, Ill., who has a son James.
Please keep your letters and cards coming my way, for you know I love to hear from classmates, widows and families.
Our 64th Informal Reunion is on June 14, 15 and 16, 1971.
