The Class tent was the focus of much of the Reunion festivity last month, and thanks to the mammoth efforts of our Reunion Chairman and now President JohnMcNamara, it can honestly be said that a good time was had by all. Other new Class Officers include treasurer Skip Waterhouse (it's comforting to know that no less than a Marine is guiding the Class coffer), and Executive Committee members BillAdler, Jon Axelrod, Sam Choo, DougCoulson, John Engelman, Ed Heald,Scott McQueen, and Mike O'Connor. Yours truly, Eric Jones, will continue for better or for worse as Class Secretary.
Our Class Flag was unveiled for the first time, and as it was the only banner present among the younger classes it received a great deal of attention. Jim and WendyTonkovich were great helps to me getting the flag "off the ground" so to speak. EdHeald obtained the special cloth. Gary andWendy Blackman were on hand, and I discovered they are the parents of a six-week-old baby.
Line and Susan Eldredgre joined us. Susan is expecting soon, and Line is working hard on an advanced degree at Andover-Newton Theological School. JohnEverett, almost out of the Navy where he works in the Bureau of Personnel in Washington, D. C., was with us. So was DaveLoring, currently studying hospital administration and overseeing the Emergency Room of the Beth Israel hospital in Boston.
Greg Olochowski made the scene. He is at B.C. Law School and runs a very successful summer hockey camp in his spare time. Eric Walser joined us from Florida complete with new facial apparatus which made me almost walk by him on Main Street without recognizing him. JimDonnelly has one more year of law school, and is clerking in Boston. Jack Noon is still writing fiction and is working for Outward Bound.
Ed and Hammy Heald have moved to Boston. John Werely left the Shaker Savings Bank in Shaker Heights long enough to visit. Larry Hall and his wife are recent returnees from the Peace Corps program, and they were here. I had dinner with Frankand Jan Couper, whose son Scott was giving the folks the weekend off from their household duties in Virginia.
Joe Lowry, an engineer in Boston, and Bill Rich who is a securities analyst for the State Street Investment Corporation there were here. Joe had wife Diana along, of course, and Bill brought Faith with him to share in the festivities. Ted Nixon who is very busy with radio and television here in the Upper Valley, stopped by the tent Saturday night to partake of the malty mixture on tap. and announced that he and Kathy were the proud parents of Erik Bryan Nixon, born May 18.
Others who showed and deserve to be mentioned are Russ Andrews, Phil and Patsy Basquin, Bob Block, George Burns, Doug Coulson, Steve "Debs" Debnam, Jim and Carol Donnelly, Bruce and Sandy Ehrenbergr, Steve Elliott, John Engelman, Steve Engelman, Pete and Helen Fahey, Dave Fuchs, Tom and Ann Goss, Frank and Dale Gump, Larry Henchey, Jeff Hinman, Gary Hobin, Pete and Phylis Hofman, Frank Ittleman, Tracey Johnson, Dave King, Tom Laughlin, Pete and Kathy Lawson, and Gene Lendler and his wife.
Also reuning were Mike and BettyLenehan, Bob and Nancy Lynn, and of course the new President John McNamara with his first lady Linda. Ed Marlette,Rusty Martin, Dick Miller, Bill andNancy Mutterperl, and Tim and HelenO'Connor were all in good form. The ravages of time have not caught up with Kevin O'Donnell either. He flew all the way from San Francisco to be here, and his date Nancy came from London! As a travel agent, I had to appreciate and remark on that. John and Betsy O'Shea joined the party. Jon Page, Jon Reich, Bob andKato Schley were there too. SteveSchwager, Larry Smith, Mike Smith, and Jeff Spencer, as well as Dave Stanley,Dick and Nancy Stowell were seen.
Bob Thomas, Al Thorndike, the Tonkoviches, Skip Waterhouse and his wife, Pete Weston, Monk Williams, and JoeGrasso all helped empty a keg or ten, and to repeat, a good time was had by all.
At our Class Memorial Service, we noted with deep and sincere sorrow the passing of those who were so young among us: EricMorgenthal, David A. Clark, James H.Barr, David A. Seidman, Peter Kittle,Tony Goit, and Alex McCarthy.
And a grateful thanks to Pete Hofman, outgoing President, and Jon Page, outgoing treasurer, for their four years of active and loyal help to the Class.
