November may be a month to remember in Dartmouth history. In it, the frost finally came to Hanover to alight on pumpkins no longer there; the Big Green Machine quite finely trounced Houseparties' rival, Columbia, by an equally frosty score of 55-0; the announcement was made that next year's Yale game would finally be played at Dartmouth's Memorial Field; and the Class of '6B finally celebrated the homecoming with a reunion in Hopkins Center's attractive Faculty Lounge. My recipe for Open House Punch was pried from me with some embarrassment, as I admitted stealing it from a Southern Comfort ad I discovered in "Playboy." (Anyone wishing it must write me directly and tell me what at least two fellows '68s are doing of late.)

At this mini-reunion, I asked people to jot down comments before they refilled their glasses. I therefore transcribe them here and refuse to take the blame for anything! Alex(Butch) Conn was on hand for the festivities. He will be receiving his M.E. from Thayer School and leaving for Eglin Air Force Base in Florida next month. He heard recently from Charles (Woody) Wood-house, and said Woody is in the Army, in Virginia, with Barbara. Moving right along ... Genie Mackles jotted down that WayneWadhams, Howie Soren and wife are alive and well and living in Cambridge. (I swear that is what it says. I will keep the evidence if anyone doubts.) Gene and his fiancee were telling me about their plans to get married in Rollins Chapel, November 28. Best wishes from the Class to you both.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Durbin were here! Larry Henchey ... Still trying (referring to his finishing up at Dartmouth for his degree). Larry is in Ripley Hall for those of you who might have a chance to write or visit him. Steve Schwager: No recent contact, except John Bieging who's working on Ph.D. at Caltech. I'll be back in grad school next year after three years' teaching —don't know where or to what field I'm heading.

Philip Schofield: Still trying to graduate. Spent three years in the Army. Bob Benoit and I were in Engineering OCS at the same time, then were in the same company for two years.

Hank and Jan Cowles: In Ipswich, Mass., at present ... sales for Advanced Automation Association. Jan is the cousin of Bob Houser '69.

Tom Draper: Now an unemployed film maker ... made roughly (sic) 45 TV documentaries on the series "Wonderful World of Sports." Currently fighting it out in NYC. Gary R. Hobin: Now unemployed; actually "resting" between getting an M.A. in History from the U of Chicago and being on active duty in the Army. Anyone near Ft. Benning drop by. By the way, anybody need a history teacher?

Paul Fitzgerald was there too. He recently joined the medical fraternity at Jefferson Medical College, where he is in his third year, and is looking forward to a class reunion in Hanover for the Yale game. (We're already working on it, Paul). DonBecker was at the game, taking a break from BC Law School in Boston. Mr. andMrs. Jim Donnelly III joined us also. Both he and Carol look great.

Someone in the group told me our great golfer Ken Kotowski was working for Achushnet in Philly, and trying out the free samples. (Achushnet makes and sells golfballs!) I also picked up the comment that John Everett was still in the Navy, at some soft desk job in Washington. (That's how I heard it, John.) It was a good time for a couple of hours, and you can all count on having another get together next season for the Yale game. John Baker, also present, "hear, hear."

Wishing to inform one and all that he has left his position as assistant dean at Ripon College in Wisconsin to become assistant dean of Linfield College, McMinnville, Ore., Noel Augustyn writes. Noel points out that the move was an advantageous one from many ways of looking at it: great location, just an hour from the coast; the president, dean of the college and the president's special assistant all happen to be Big Greeners. The four of them, plus the associate dean who is a Dartmouth wife, are currently plotting how to get the student who plays the college chimes there to add a few songs to his repertoire. Noel claims no one will know the difference when "Dartmouth's in Town Again" comes pealing forth some day soon. And it will give them a boost! Noel also added that Greg Marshall wrote him to say Dan and Mary Graves are now parents, though he hasn't had this confirmed from Dan personally! If the rumor is true, congratulations from the Class.

On October 3, Glen Cranker married Mary Joanne Small in Maynard. Mass. The Crankers are living in New York City at present. And Ken Dardick writes a quick note to say he is finishing up at Harvard Med this year, and still planning to enter the field of family medicine. Ken married Jill Lisa Cobert (Smith '69) last December, and the couple are living in Brighton, Mass.

And last but not least, Marti Freirich writes that she and husband Jeff are wearing out the camera as they take pictures of Jonathan Benjamin who was born last May 16. Another classmate Steve Friedman, who ushered at the Freirich wedding three years ago, was named godfather. Steve went up to Hanover and bought J. B. a Dartmouth bib and diaper. Jeff finished his master's from Columbia in September and is currently working for his family at wholesale food processing.

It's been a hectic month. Thanks as always to those of you who took the time to write to me. Hope more will, even if only a Christmas card. Best wishes to you all for the holidays, Eric.
